Request to Anand for PC 3D Display comparison

Dear Anand, I was wondering if you or Brian Klug (read his review of ASUS 3D monitor back in the day) could do a review on PC 3D LCD monitors. It seems that nearly every major LCD brand has one, and given the extra premium that is being charged for them, I am sure many people would like a comparison review, and I don't think anyone has done that yet.

A quick look at Newegg shows some of the likely candedates:
Acer GD235HZbid Black/orange 23.6" 2ms Widescreen 1080p 120Hz LCD Monitor
ASUS VG236HE Black 23" Height,Swivel & Tilt Adjustable Full HD 3D Widescreen LCD Monitor
LG W2363D Black 23" Full HD 120Hz 3D WideScreen LCD Monitor
Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ Black 22" 5ms 3D Gaming 120 Hz Widescreen LCD Monitor
ViewSonic VX2268WM Black 22" 5ms 120Hz 3D-Ready Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers

Thanks a lot for your excellent reviews!

Nice post.Great idea.I would also like to hear an updated, detailed and factual account of what AMD's cards can or can't do "at this time" since basically it would elsewise double as an Nvidia review.😛

I'm pretty sure that 3d isn't available on AMD video cards. And I have the latest information from Nvidia's newsletter.

Dont forget the Benq XL2410

It's just coming availible in the US today and the first review just got posted.

Also, the Alienware one.

Don't buy the Acer GD235HZ. It has horrible blacklight bleed and poor viewing angles.

There you go, one down for you.

Yeah 3D seems to be taking off huge. At least if you check the theaters or best buy or watch tv ads, etc.

I think a review would be welcome.

I would like to see the price on the extra equipment come down. But there's always an early adopter fee.

from recent announcements, the 23"-24" panels are:

Viewsonic V3D241wm-LED
ASUS VG236H
BenQ XL2410T
ACER GD245HQ
Dell alienware AW2310
Planar SA2311W
LG W2363D
I-O Data 3D231XBR

but some of them are nowhere to be found in order to buy one.

A detailed article would be awesome. I'd also love to see a sticky somewhere with all the most recent information on 120hz displays in general. Like:

- basic run-down of the difference between 3d on monitors (120hz) vs tvs (frame packing)
- in the next year do we know if tvs with 1.4a hdmi will actually start accepting and displaying a native 120hz signal
- where are the larger-format 120hz monitors

I'd love to be able to track a single post where I was sure that I would hear about the most recent news. I'm *waiting* on something larger than 23".

I would also like to see a comprehensive review of the different 120hz monitors.

There is a great review of the BenQ XL2410T at pcmonitors.org. It only scored a 72 stating problems with weak contrast, backlight blead through, and sub par colour reproduction.
