I like the bench section of anandtech very much.
as the products are thoroughly detailed.
But it would be very easy to interpret if bench are displayed in either of the two ways :
1. Either benchmarks with "Higher is better" are written one after the other & then all the "Lower is better" benchmarks are written with a former heading of the same.
2. This option would be better :
I think it would be very easy to interpret if we are shown the NUMBER of benchmarks product A has win and then number of benchmarks product B has win.
So a person can easily predict which could be the winner by actually not reading (counting) the benchmarks.
Also followed by it,
Product A (say if product A has won more benchmarks) should first boast of it's comparison benchmarks
& then Product B should list it's merits (comparisons)
By following option 2,
a user could very hurriedly and graphically go through these results without
reading "Higher is better" or "Lower is better"
as it is logical that every benchmark is put in the basket of the winner.
So a person could just see how much it varies by seeing the bar chart.
This is not my original idea.
I have seen this format of comparison on www.mysmartprice.com
You can see what I was trying to say from
http://www.mysmartprice.com/msp/compare/relevance.php?mspid1=1765&mspid2=1768
Which you would agree is the best comparison you have ever seen.(most relevant specs compared & usual detailed technical specs also)
I have written this because I feel anandtech has the potential to adopt this feature and give it's users a new experience of reading benchmarks.
