I have a new A6110 Fujitsu notebook with VHP. Ive encountered an annoying issue that Ive found mentioned when searching the internet that others have experienced but I have not seen a solution posted.

Mainly, when I copy or move folders/files between partitions on the same volume (eg, copy large media data folder from D to C drive or vice versa) then video playback of DvD (VOB files) and/or WMF files is disrupted. The players Ive used so far are PowerDvD 7 & Media Player. This is a new machine & new OS install. I tried changing all kinds of settings (eg, set indexing & DEP =off; reinstall the SATA AHCI Controller; Set AHCI = Off in BIOS, etc.) none of which makes a difference. (The effect is that the video & audio will stutter at half second intervals during the data transfer & returns normal after transfer completion.) This does not happen when interchanging data between the notebook & external USB drive.

If this is not OS setting related then MS certainly has to have a fix. I cant believe no one would have noticed this by now or not been bothered by such a serious performance shortfall.

Oh yes, I need to add that when I downgrade the system to WINXP (using same SATA 82301 Controller AHCI) & even the same Power DvD 7 Player (same application code) the system functions normally (ie, the media players are unaffected by the large file transfers so the subject issue should be able to fixed in the VISTA OS).
