I've been coming to the Software, Apps, Programming and Games forum for years. I for one do not come here to read about games. I have nothing against games, I love playing them. However, I come to this forum usually for softare/programming tips/help/whatever, not to read about games that I can go to any other gaming site and get my fill of.

I know I am not a lifer or huge poster and this may be locked as soon as a mod gets wind of it, but I just want to put the bug in peoples ear and maybe we can kindly ask that the forums be separated. It would make it more efficient and enjoyable for both parties (Gamers and Software). So please, don't take this the wrong way, I am not ranting or complaining I love Anandtech forums... this is merely a request for to see how many people feel this change would benefit them and for the mods to take it in consideration.

If you feel this is a reasonable request, please just "sign" below.

There is a huge thread in Forum Issues about it right here

I also agree that we need to split up this section, it's getting a bit overwhelmed as it is currently.

oops, I'm sorry. I did a search but came back with nothing. Thanks for letting me know! If nothing else, this will at least bring the other thread to people's attention.

I think it makes perfect sense to separate the two. Software != Games for most intents and purposes (Software is usually for work, Games for play).

please note that ideally we'd like to split off into the PROGRAMMING only forum.. not a Programming & Apps forum and a Games Forums. But anything is better than the current situation ;)
