[Request] A favor from a Morrowind owner.

Morrowind is one of those games that I bought but never really devoted much time to, but I've recently decided to reinstall it. The problem is that my CD is scratched, and two of the videos (out of the six on the CD) are unreadable. This is a problem because Morrowind uses these videos at startup; without them, one can't even get to the main menu. I would just use a no-CD crack to remove the CD from the equation, but even these cracks require that the video directory from the CD be copied over to the hard drive. The two videos in question will obviously not copy over, as they are unreadable.

Can anyone with an original Morrowind CD send me mw_intro.bik and mw_logo.bik? If you PM me I'll send over my MSN/AIM or my email address, whatever you're most comfortable with. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Here's the best I can furnish in terms of proof that I actually own a legitimate copy of the game.

Just take another one of the bik movies and rename it to mw_intro.bik and mw_logo.bik. I vaguely remember actually just making dummy files named the same names so morrowind would skip the intro movies. That might be for another game though.

EDIT: You can also try creating a blank text file with notepad and then renaming it to mw_intro.bik and another one as mw_logo.bik.

i can help too if you can't get it to work, i wanted to replay it again since i just got two expansions for it.

Nice proof, and that's a good idea, igowerf, if it works. haha

Well, I'm pretty sure that copying and renaming a bik file will work. I think I had the exact same problem.

cant you edit the config file to turn the intro off? i seem to remember reading about being able to do that for other games.
