Would prefer as fast a total pixel response time as possible (sub 20 ms altogether preferable).
So far, I've found the following candidates, each with their own issues:

  • Dell U2412M - great IQ, but cabinet style is a bit lacking (silver and curved backing? really?)
  • Samsung S24A850DW - backlight bleeding issues (but the cabinet and stand is more than ideal)
Post any other candidates you've heard of in here. I'm not asking you to do my research for me, but if you know anything offhand, go ahead and let me know.

Thanks.

I'm still leaning towards the Dell though. I just wish it were on sale (the default price of 370CAD is steep IMO).

The U2412m went on sale for Black Friday and Boxing Day. $300 taxes in.

I actually have NO windows in this room.

Are you saying it's a matte-style finish on the monitor? I'd rather semi reflective or whatnot.

Either way, at that price, it's hard to beat...

I love my Dell 2412M's.

And you wont find very many nice displays with glossy finishes. As the majority of people that care about display quality hate glossy displays.

It's matte, yes. It has the fine grain coating to dull environmental reflections.

Yeah I have a huge window RIGHT behind me, and the anti-glare works quite well. Just a bit of sheen on them in the afternoon.

I am totally for matte for a laptop, but I wouldn't mind a bit of gloss (very little) for an office display. That being said, I'm more than accepting of the matte finish of this Dell.

Do you care if it's eIPS or s-IPS?

The low lag monitors are the ones without scalers, like the Korean monitors. The downside is that, well, they have no scalers and often no on-screen displays to change settings.
