Req: Program that can grab audio streams and writes it to disk

A friend showed me one that operated under *nix.. It delt with placing the sources IPort number in the command line with some switches to separate the different 'tracks' in the stream and save them to file as mp3. 'twas very impressive. I'd like to be able to do the same however, under my current Windoze enviroment. Does anyone know of such a windows based program?

well, I use StreamRipper32 for Shoutcast rips. I got it from Oddsock.org but they might have other general ripping progs. Check it out
