I'm seriously considering selling my dual 17"s for a single 2405...

If you could post a pic of a 2405 sitting next to a 17" lcd, it would be great, thanks...

just do a mockup in cardboard

just did some rough resolution calculations and it appears that the dual 17s will have an overall resolution slightly higher than the 2405

however, the 2405 will be much, much better for multimedia applications because it is a single large screen, plus it has the benefits of the additional video inputs

I'd go with the 2405, as it will be magnificent for multitasking if you manage your windows properly

While i would love to do a mockup in cardboard, nothing beats seeing the real thing :)

I posted the 2405fpw Hot Deal thread and a few people have asked me to change the title because the 860+tax is no longer valid.

CTrain,
In JB2 picture i noticed that you still had the black bars in your movie. Shouldnt a widescreen movie take up the whole screen (or close to it)? Those bars seem a little bigger than they should be. Maybe some other playback software would eliminate that problem (if its a problem at all)?

There are several different aspect ratios used in movies. The most popular one is 1.85:1 which roughly translates to 16:9. This ratio would pretty much fill up the 2405's screen. The movie displayed in his pictures looks to be in the 2.35:1 ratio which is a much narrow ratio, thus the larger black bars on the toip and bottom.
