I tried coinbase, but I'm forced to use their "wallet". Also I have to to 3-5 business days for them to verify and link my account just like PayPal. A huge no-no.

I'd like to have my "wallet" and BitCoin "dealer" be 2 separate organization.

I tried BitQuick, but it seems I'll have to go my local bank, buy and fill out a deposit slip then upload it to BitQuick's website.

I tried expresscoin. By far the worst. Only check or money order for U.S. residents. And if the price of BitCoin goes up, they may charge extra/give you less, while the check is being cleared.

Any other reputable alternatives would be appreciated.

Over the past 4 hours the price of BC has gone up by a dollar!

I don't know anything about these coins, but can't you just transfer out of their wallet once the transaction is made?
You are also upset that they actually want to verify that the account you are attaching to them is legit? Wat?
Why would you need to buy a deposit slip?
