<< Among the holdover Democratic projects recently canceled by the Bush administration was an $860,000 program to teach public housing tenants to reduce stress and improve their self-esteem by the use of colors, meditation, aromatherapy and "applied kinesiology" (in which a practitioner feels a person's glands to determine, for therapy purposes, which of 14 personality types that person is). The career Housing and Urban Development official who had approved the program is a priest of the International Metaphysical Ministry, and the program's chief trainer said she was "shocked" that something so successful was being terminated. GL is also known as Bill O'Reilly's and Shawn Hannity's love child.
If I wanted Fox news, I would turn on fox news channel.

that would be sean hannity.

And it isn't surprising that intelligent analysts which lean conservative are offensive to some. O'reilly is probably one of the most well resourced political analysts in the business. He doesn't go into a debate without fully preparing. And he isn't entirely right wing. Opposes the death penalty for starters, thinks that SUVs should be abolished, believes firmly in socializing and nationalizing health care... but you knew all these things before you went ahead and bashed him.. didn't you?

To the other liberal propogandizers on the forum before you steam ahead and assault someone you might try doing a little research.

O'Reilley is a wacko. A confused one, but still.
Let's see. Opposed to death penalty because he wants to send prisoners to concentration camps in Alaska. Well guess what, Russia has been sending prisoners to Siberia for hundreds of years, and the crime rates haven't dropped to say the least.

<< And he isn't entirely right wing. >>

Yeah, and Fox is fair and balanced :)
Oreilly is a conservative who by virtue of living in NY has seen the reality.

I am all for cutting the bacon. But unless we can have a totally libretarian government, we should distribute pork equally. Some corporate welfare for defense industry, some aromatheropy for people in the projects.

There's a lot of stuff the Canadian media report on that doesn't get widely reported on in the U.S.. I read a story a couple of months ago about Bill Clinton's trip to India (after leaving the presidency) and how he rode an elephant there and was making fun of the fact he was master of the GOP or something to that effect. Would've made for a great news clip but nobody down south reported on it.

edit: here's Clinton on the elephant but they don't make mention of his joke;)

<< Bill Clinton, former U.S. president, enjoying an elephant ride outside the City Palace in Jaipur on April 9. (Photo: AP) He wanted to do it last year -- a U.S. election year -- but could not because the elephant is the symbol of the Republican Party and he is a Democrat. >>

I had you labeled as a democrat, boy was I mistaken.

You are a socialist if I've ever seen one.

I lived in Russia till I was 13, so I saw the failings of social system first hand. On the other hand, I lived in the U.S. since then, some of those in inner city, and i have seen failings of the capitalist system first hand as well.
Believe me, the Republicans in Congress love their pork as much as the Liberals. They love to call Democrats big spenders, but ask them to cut their pet projects, and watch them change their tune.

You are kidding, right? Don't tell me you don't see it.
Just listen to Cavuto's open ended monologues.

Cavuto really isn't a fair example. You aren't going to find a good market analyst who doesn't lean to the right.

Otherwise he'd spend the entire hour talking about how the evil corporate empires and rich fat cat CEO's are stealing from the American people.

willow bay, that hot one on cnbc at 7 am til the market closing, the two dudes that sit across from each other at 4-6am on cnbc.. almost all serious market analysts on every station lean right.

71% of economists in this country have conservative leanings.

If cavuto is your best example, that is sad. Fox News is about evenly divided right now between liberal and conservative contributors.

The increased spending over the last six years was not only signed by Bill Clinton, it was passed by a republican house and senate.

You're preaching to the choir right now.

Well, you don't see other business analysts pushing unadulterated conservative propaganda down your throat. THey might lean right, but they just report business news.

is closing point is declared to be a monologue. They make this clear before he says it.

He's conservative. Big f'in deal. A large majority of the ceos/vps/presidents of the companies that keep this country prospering day in and day out are conservative. The average working male is conservative.

What is it about conservative values that so offend you?

I am a conservative. I support gay marriages, I support abortion in SOME circumstances, I support equal opportunity in the work place, I support increasing the minimum wage. I support increasing teachers pay.

I also support the death penalty. I don't support energy price caps. I don't support the redistribution of income. I don't support nationalizing health care.

What about my beliefs so offend you to the point of repulsion? I am your average conservative... who is not a biggot anti poor ahole.

You label people conservative as if it is some moral catastrophe that plagues half of the people in this country.

I don't have anything against conservative people.
I have everything against the self-righteous below the belt tactics I have seen from the Republicans in the last few years.
I think both parties are naive and ideological about what government should and can do for the people.
And don't tell me fox is fair and balanced. It's really a pointless argument. It's always hardballs at the democrats and not even softballs at republicans and Bush.

well i don't really know what else you want from fox. they routinely have some of the most outspoken and renowned liberal commentators and analysts from the news media, radio and television.

While they certainly do lean to the right with snow and hume and even shepard smith when he decides to pull out the commentary.. it is good entertainment nonetheless.

What you can say about fox I can say about CNN. I find fox to be more engaging. I dont' really have a whole lot of interest about foreign affairs. Fox is entirely domestic and is one of the most engaging when it comes to political commentary. ABC.CBS.NBC rather/brokaw/jennings are self proclaimed liberals.. CNN considers greta van sustran to be comparable to o'reilly...

I just find fox to be more engaging, regardless of the issue. They were the only station that posted the names of the 168 victims while mcveigh was getting the lethal injection.. they just have more class... more class than CNN could dream of having. And they have the highest ratings right now...s ot hey are cdertainly doing something right.
