Before posting this ignorance, did you even bother to check election maps? http://www.270towin.com/historical-presidential-elections/

I also might remind you, Democrats have run Southerners as presidential and/or VP candidates, fearing they can't win any other way. ( Maybe Dims forgot about Johnson/Carter/Clinton/Gore/ But of course such an obvious "Southern Strategy" isn't racist when the party of Jim Crow, segregation and the KKK pulls it.

Remarkable that you could post a link to the same maps I offered earlier & still not understand what they mean.

What happened in 1964 & every election since, other than 1976? How was that different from the previous 80 years?

It's like Lyndon Johnson said when he signed the civil rights act- Dems lost the South for a generation- actually 2 generations at this point.

I fear for minorities in America. With the social and economic decline of the country, minorities are always the first and easiest targets.

So do I. Where I live white people are the minority. In many places white people are the minority. In fact, the term minority no longer applies to other than white in many places. The people who perpetuate racism are those who insist on talking about it all the time.....you know, the race baiters. You can't deny that they exist and are a huge part of the problem. I'll never understand how anyone can hate someone because of the color of their skin. It's all learned in the home. I doubt people are capable if inherently hating people without being taught to do so. OTOH, people need to stop behaving according to certain stereotypes they don't like. Some cultures being it upon themselves. Playing the victim all the time is not a good look.

The first two sentences are the frame work of the entire comment. What do you find the end of it?

The overall idea, the driving force, the outcome of it?

No, it all goes together. Read it again and let me know if your opinion changes.

lol you're complaining about an article (partially) written by Thomas Sowell, an American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, author and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and copied from a black conservative web site.

in your neck of the cracker-ass hillbilly white bread and mayo woods these folk are commonly referred to as uncle tom. god you're a dumb fuck ;)

so in your cracker-ass inbred hillbilly West Virginia stormfront compound, you commonly copy paste articles without citation, as if they are your own learned analysis?

is that what it's like to be illiterate?

so how many people visit this "black conservative website"?

4?

What stereotypical behavior are you talking about? Is that like a rape victim wearing a provocative dress, or what?

Yes lets talk about "what happened".

In 1964, Goldwater- not only not a racist but actually an NAACP member won 5 deep south states vs. darling of the Dims, southerner “I'll have those ******s voting Democratic for the next 200 years..." Johnson. Dim conclusion: pass for the D party, Republican is racist.

1968: Nixon by a landslide, the entire country... except for... oh gee look are that. The same deep south states you want to blast Goldwater for. Won by? Wallace. Party he belonged to all his life? Say it with me now dumb Jhhnn.... Dim. Texas? Won by the Dim.

Dumb Dim conclusion? Dims get a pass for winning the south this time, blast Nixon for winning the country by a landslide.

1972: Nixon landslide. Dim conclusion? Racist.

1976: oh no!!! Don't mention that one! No fair! Quick, sweep it under the rug! A liberal Dim's Dim won the evil terrible racist south!!! No fair bringing that up! "Every year except...!!!"

Dim conclusion: Dim party pass, just 'cause.

1980: Reagan landslide. A Californian blasts the Dim southern strategy out of the water; Carter took his home state. Let me guess: Dim pass, Republican racist for daring to once again win by a landslide.

1984: Same conclusion of course. Must be racist.

1988: Ditto.

1992: Another southern Dim pair (gee love that Dim southern strategy!) wins with with a nice chunk of the south. Lets guess: Dims get a pass on being racist this time too huh?

1996: Same thing. Dim pass? Of course!

2000-2004 Republican sweep of everything but the coasts and parts of the north. 2000- aww gee, the southern Dim candidate lost by a few votes where? In the evil, terrible racist south! 2004 the southern strategy of Edwards didn't pay off either.

2008-2012 we've had to wait this long before you can begin to construct any North/South Dim/Rep divide- as if the south was the same as it was 50 years ago.

It's like Lyndon Johnson said when he signed the civil rights act- Dems lost the South for a generation- actually 2 generations at this point.
What's funny is you quoting a sack of shit like Johnson saying this, LAMENTING the fact that he had to do the right thing, fearing not doing what Dims had always done: placate southern racists and keep blacks in the south held down in order to put Dim-party politics first, as if its a slam against Republicans!

Matt had it exactly right on, and its obvious to anyone: boneheads like you cast Republicans as racist for any victory in the south, even when part of national landslides, yet you grant Dims a pass for the most obvious southerner candidate strategies, winning southern states, even lamenting keeping Jim Crow going so they could forever hold onto the south! You just grant a pass and say "it was all the Republicans fault!"

Meanwhile I'm reminded how in a recent thread about Obama's failures as president, we had the spectacle of leftloons claiming "Obama is really a Republican!" The most glaring proof that Dims will litterally swap party blame and burn it at both ends over *anything* when their failures are too obvious to ignore.

So anyone who witnnesed that marvel of blame-shifting and denial wonders why Dims cast off their party's rotten racist history onto Republicans? Its laughably obvious... you'll do it even when your latest dud is still in office!

You seem rather confused. The CBD has always been a brain defect of conservatives. It just so happens that years ago southern democrats were conservatives with that brain defect and when liberal democrats demanded equality for black people they became republicans. Same brain defect, different party. The racist tendencies of the conservative brain continue right up to this day. We see republicans trying to limit the vote of poor minorities with their voter ID shit. Racism is hideous and when that fact is the normal belief of a society racists go underground and hide their racism even from themselves. We can no longer stuff up our egos like peacocks and have racist feathers. The CBD must deny.

Just remember, if you're a Democrat or liberal you can apologize for your racist transgressions and all will be forgiven.

Democrats went from conservative to liberal and Republicans from liberal to conservative, so the CBD switched parties. Democrats used to have a brain defect but the defectives switched parties.

I left out the rest of the rant to get to the heart of it- Dems didn't so much cast off their racist past as the perps found welcoming arms in the Repub party & voted accordingly.

Goldwater opposed the civil rights act by placing states rights above human rights, dressed that pig as a southern belle. His intellectual heirs have done the same ever since. It was mealy mouthed double speak then, and it remains so today- decrying racism while claiming it must be allowed to continue on the basis of principle.

I disagree with Moonbeam about it being a brain defect- it's actually learned behavior, a cultural feature more prevalent in some parts of the country, former slave states.

Yet, you guys worshiped Robert Byrd. Who apologized for being a member of the KKK. Looks like you love those who have a CBD as long as they shift to your ideology and apologize.

Most of today's Democrats had yet to be born when those transgressions took place. It's the same wrt Repubs being the party of Lincoln. It's clear that believers in the Lost Cause of the Confederacy have forgiven Repubs for that.

The 60's & the civil rights acts initiated a vast political realignment in this country, one eagerly exploited by Repub leadership.

It's merely the truth. Refusal to recognize that is a denial of reality.

The worship of individuals is a stupidity that should be reserved only for Reagan. Did Byrd shift in heart or for political expedience? If you don't know the answer to that, shut the fuck up. Everything depends on knowing the answer to than, and I think the only one who knew for sure is dead, no? You have a brain defect that makes you judgmental while in a state of ignorance and you judge that others are just like you in that regard. You have no idea how a progressive like me sees things because you close the door to that capacity.

Science has not at the present time penetrated to the cause of this phenomenon with some assuming it to be genetic. I happen to think it is a learned behavior also, the product of using the fear of nonconformity to discipline children, teaching them to conform by making them believe that different and disgusting are the same thing. What there is no doubt about, in my opinion, is that in an environment where there's no external threat the trait becomes a defect, dangerous to the society at large.

Actually I think you just painted yourself in a corner. If you feel CBD is real and then you state it switched parties you have just lied to make a point which in itself is defective.

You stated earlier that "it has also been scientifically proven that drunkenness and fear turn liberals into conservatives" By this reasoning when you speak of switching parties you are saying liberals are drunks living in fear.

Please don't fall back into self loathing Moonbeam we all love you on this forum well most of us. My wife and I are hoping to move soon we have another house and you are still welcome to visit us. If it helps I am willing to buy you all the booze you can drink hell I may even join you. I have been defective all my life I am human and as such have all the human frailties built in.
