In case you had any doubts about the bottomless bad faith we're dealing with here, the same people who didn't say a word about Jared Kushner running the government or Ben Carson the surgeon running HUD apparently because he is black are now very concerned about the incoming HHS secretary's lack of public health experience.

Whether this guy is a good or bad nominee is a question that should be debated, but no Republican should be allowed to speak at that debate because they have very clearly shown they don't actually care. If they don't care, then we shouldn't care what they think.

In fairness, they are also concerned that any AG nominee swear they will in no way investigate the prior admin for any reason to pass confirmation.

When Lady Lindsey states that they will not confirm anyone unless someone agrees to not prosecute "Individual 1" ... is that not criminal? Abuse of power, something?

Deficits, character, not saying mean things, acting presidential, being honest, oversight of the administration - all things that will suddenly matter deeply to the GOP in regards to the Biden administration.

You're kidding. The administration the gave us Betsy DeVoss?
It's just like with the debt/deficit. They will also suddenly develop an interest in investigating possible corruption in the executive branch of government.

I think we will all be very impressed by how fervently they pretend to care about good government, fiscal responsibility, etc. I'm hoping this time though the media doesn't feel it necessary to pretend to believe them.

Salmon slap.
Just a simple rule: you lie to the American public or get caught engaging in blatant hypocrisy, on video or on the record with any media platform, you get sentenced to one slap on public broadcast for your transgression.

You should consider GOP congressmen for “acting” congressmen.

Betsy DeVoss might have been corrupt, but at least she has some minimal experience with the education system. Let us not forget that Trump appointed Rick Perry as Secretary of Energy. A man that admitted that he didn't even know what the Agency did, and kept forgetting the name of the agency in interviews.

It's worse than that.

1) Perry listed it as an agency he would like to eliminate entirely.
2) When attempting to list those agencies later, forgot the Department of Energy existed entirely, and this was during a televised debate!
3) As you say, didn't even know what the agency did.
4) Was still somehow one of Trump's best cabinet secretaries.

So say you're not going to and do it anyways, like when Lady G said he wouldn't rush through a supreme court nominee before an election.

Why would all appointments not be on an 'acting' basis? Surely from a President's p-o-v there's no downside? Firstly they don't need to care what Congress says, and secondly they can fire them on a whim, thus ensuring they will be fully loyal to the President at all times.

I can see Biden trying to restore the previous norms to burnish his centrist and restorationist credentials but that's about it. That clause of the Constitution is now clearly optional.

Maybe Joe should just nominate Hunter to run everything if we're following the Trump standard.

Honestly, this is where he should hire Chappelle as WH spokesman to reprise his role of "Black Bush" as "Black Biden", dare Rs to sanction him with their army, then tell them to suck a thicccc dick.

I common line I see from Republicans is that Trump didn't get any of his appointees confirmed because of Democrats so why should they confirm for Biden.

Which of course is just an incredible lie.

There you go again trying to water down Republican maleficence. How many of Obamas SR staff were unqualified? In fact how many people in Obamas White House were as unqualified as Rick Perry?
