Republicans trying to fire the elections administrator in largest county in Texas which is blue

Republicans ultimate goal is to cause stress in that counties election resulting in failures to use as a predicate to take over that counties elections. Republicans continue with their war on people voting. At least the wrong kind of people which includes minorities, students, the poor and other Democrats.

Senate Bill 1750 was set to take effect September 1. It would require the county to get rid of its appointed elections administrator and shift the office’s functions back to the elected county clerk and county tax assessor-collector.

They can't win straight up fair and square so what else is a dangerously desperate fascist led corrupted "conservative" party on a fast sinking ship that got rammed dockside by a runaway freight train to do ya' know? Especially when their orange flavored Crime Boss is skittering around with an unmuzzled mouth whining over and over again how his indictments are witch hunts, still insisting he got his election victory stolen from him and how he can cast a spell over top secret gov't documents and declassify them willy nilly without due process. It's the stuff that science fiction horror movies are made of.

And that same guy is far and away the GOP's favored son destined to run the nation as a weapon to, for no other reason, get revenge against his....well, THEIR enemies along with seizing the nation's Capital the same way most any third rate despotic opportunist would.

Can you just imagine what those other well established democracies around the world see and think about what the Republican party has become? It's insanity run amok on the face of it all and an existential threat that could happen to them as well.

That’s part of their plan though, flood the zone with so much bs and corruption that people get tired of trying to keep up and just tune out. I had one friend that I used to talk to about politics and after 4 years of trump he was exhausted from it. Sometimes he brings up “both sides” and I have to correct him.

I thought conservatives felt government worked best when most decisions were made at the local level.

When she does tune back in, it's sort of weird to see, her logical grown woman part of her brain says Republicans have jumped the shark but her conservative upbringing has her immediately "both sides" the conversation by saying everyone is corrupt and on the take and in their own ideological corner etc etc etc.

Sort of facinating to watch happen in real time with a person I know is wicked smart but still human with that tribal instinct to defend her side.

Right wing tactic is working on her. They flood the zone with everyone is corrupt. They rinse and repeat so many times people become brainwashed. That why the use "Biden crime family" when the only person guilty of crimes is Hunter.

You see the #bothsides used here often when corned with irrefutable facts. When you ask them to explain they call you names pick up their blocks and go home. The simplest answer from them turns into E=mc2 (I saw Oppenheimer last week).

I got that response when I posited "white people are primarily responsible for racism" to which I got a response of "not true". When I asked who is the primary culprit the response was "it's complicated". I got no other answer which smells a lot like "I can't admit to the truth so I'll punt"
