My turn again.

Unless you have lived in Missouri, especially near Saint Louis, you don't know the scope of crooked politics.
Most overtaxed, underfunded, backwards place I ever spent 6 years. The city has some real bright spots,
among the blight, but the workings of both political partys there are an embarrassment to democracy.

P.S. - I've always been a registered Republican, but my party has been taken over by the Anti-Christ.

Bush or Ashcroft?

Siamese twins joined at the Lips.
Asscroft has already pushed states 28 times to enforce the death penalty in crimes (by minorities) in the first 2 years.
Janet Reno leaned on state prosecutors a total of 14 times in 8 years.
Bush was known as 'The Executioner' while being Govener of Texas.
Both claim to be doing it to uphold their religious beliefs, I beleive I'll kill a non-beliver for Christ.
This is NOT what I was taught that religion is all about, their way is as heathanistic as the Arabs.

Guess who also was the son of a Preacher, besides Asscroft - and was school chums with John Boy.
Kenny Boy - yes Lay, Mr. Enron - crooked money, screw 'em blind Ken Lay.

Scary isn't it.

I'm not challenging your definition Dave . . . oligophrenic makes sense . . . kind of . . . but I've NEVER heard it used in psychiatry.

oligo: few
phrenia: mind (say schizophrenia)

There's no entry in the Palm version of Taber's Medical Dictionary, either. So you've either got a mad lexicon or you're mistaken. I would favor the former but inquiring minds would like to know where you exhumed such a fossil of a word . . . assuming it exists.😉

After reading the article it is kind of lame to waste millions on a primary with an almost certain conclusion. Due to the general disrespect we have for teachers, police, firefighters, and other legitimate public servants MO can get a lot done for what they will save. Granted, the state is probably running a deficit already.

What if Gephardt drops out by primary time? It's not till next spring, if I remember correctly.
Oh, and Tcsenter. Did you read the article. They had primary in 2000.
She added she'd like to reinstate the primary in 2008
So basically when Republicans are choosing a nominee, they'll have the state pay for it. But if it's the Democrats, then they should hold a caucus out of pocket. They are changing the rules to fit their party needs.

hmm...oligophrenic. Now there's a word I haven't heard in many years. In fact, I didn't even know its an English word at all (oligophren means "retard" in my first language).

Just wondering Dave, why did you use that word?

Interesting . . . of note . . . the NLM reference is misleading. Technically a synonym for ADHD is 'minimal brain disease' but no respectable psychiatrist would use such terminology. A historical reference to children with cranial or facial malformations was FLK "funny looking kid".

My word for the day is oligophrenic . . . thnx.

As for the topic, there's little doubt that if Bush had lost the recount and was running again . . . along with a possible Ashcroft . . . the GOP dominated MO lege would DEFINITELY hold a primary. All politicians are FOS; these blokes just happen to have a legitimate reason NOT to hold a primary . . . the state is broke.
