seriously conservative AT members, this is crazy and it needs to be stamped out. We can’t have this take over the Republican Party. I can’t change these people’s thinking because I’m not a Republican. You guys need to do the majority of the work reeling these short sighted morons in.

A majority of Republicans said they believed the news media is "the enemy of the people" rather than "an important part of democracy" in a poll released Tuesday.

The poll from Quinnipiac University showed 51% of GOP respondents identified with President Donald Trump's "enemy of the people" line

I'm thinking there is a number of republicans who would be happy if constitution was reduced to 2nd amendment only.

That's because the only people left calling themselves "Republican" are batshit insane.

Seriously batshit. It has not only become the party of ridiculous conspiratards, but also the party that believes a "Strong Man" leader will save them from "Big Government" and those scary brown people.

It is literally the nationalist united teaparty states. NUTS.

I'd rather see Republicans all made politically powerless and then Dems can split into Liberals and Progressives to maintain some kind of debate on issues.

Short version of the long one: The media is the "enemy of the people" only because Trump says it is.

Many on the right are afraid of Trump.

They are afraid of his cult like following who are immune to facts just as he is.

It is impossible to debate, or have a rational discourse with a cult member who has been, and continues to be the victim of weaponized logical fallacies.

Yep.

They have such a disdain for politics that they will not listen to both parties, Republican and Democrat. I actually feel bad for them. What are they going to do when Trump leaves office?

Maybe there's a comet coming? Or something hiding in the tail... I do not remember that cult's whole deal.

Sorry OP. Nice try but nada goin to ever happen.
The word for today: Selling out.
To sell out.
To sell ones soul to worship this failed reality TV game show host.

What is really sad, that one day Donald Trump will finally be gone.
Either struck down by god himself, or from eating too much KFC, or who knows.
Maybe we will have an old fashion Whitehouse murder scandal.
And the number one suspect? Melania.
But however the act.... when the day comes and Donald is finally no more, the sad thing to follow will be those Donald Trump enablers having their buyers remorse.
I can just see it now....
Mitch McConnell, "My sincere apologies to America. I didn't know what the hell I was doing."
Or.
Sarah Sanders, "God forgive me. The devil possessed my soul. I'm so so sorry people. Daddy? Daddy? I love you. Forgive me daddy???"
Or,
Rudy Giuliani, "What the hell was I thinking? That wasn't like me. I'm a decent moral person."
No doubt lines and lines of poor suckers, most of them republican, crying for forgiveness and claiming they had no control over their undying support of Donald Trump.
This is how it always goes.
They do the crime, then cry for forgiveness once all has returned back to normal.
And to them I say F-em. F them all!

Justice would be to convince the Trumptards to join him in his bunker of solitude while we seal up the exits and quietly walk away.

The way self hate works is that you hate others and make them suffer so bad they finally stand up and kill you. The aim of self hate is unconscious self destruction via the other. What you fear feeling you create the conditions in which you are forced to feel it.

There's such a great opportunity for a new candidate to push:
  • Free trade, but fairly done
  • Open markets, which includes ensuring strong competition occurs
  • Personal liberty, but also responsibility
There is an honourable Republican Party waiting to be reborn. It means slashing and burning a significant white nationalist wing that's been slowly oozing all over the place, but it can (and must) be done.

I’d say liberal/libertarian tbh

Nah, Libertarian (as in current Libertarian party) allows for no government ability to ensure fairness in trade or for the government prevention of monopolies. They seem to think the market will fix what the market itself crates in the absence of regulation and control.

Says the guy who doesn't even know what racism is.

Small government/anti government? check
Less/anti regulations? check
Free market self regulation? check
Isolationist policy? check
Anti single payer health care? check

Of course most people who call themselves libertarians aren't really libertarians and some Republican policies are counter to true libertarian policies. But we aren't talking about textbook definitions now are we.

I'm a registered Republican and have been for over 40 years. I've always been opposed to free trade and supported fair trade with recognition that we need to support American workers and businesses. Something most Democrats used to support until a couple years back.
I'm also a supporter of legalized and taxed drugs along with legalized prostitution. Something that puts me on the Libertarian side of conservatism along with positions that some Democrats used to support, until a few years back.
Abortion? Yep, i support it, but only through the first 4 months or so. If a woman hasn't made a decision by then, it gets made for her. I won't claim that abortion isn't taking a human life, but I also support taking human lives in self defense and for capital crimes.

If you want to know where most Republicans I know stand you only have to look at the Constitution to see a generalized map of where we are. It ain't rocket surgery.
