Talk about completely clueless. The Republicans are outraged, OUTRAGED I say that the war on drugs has been throttled SLIGHTLY back.

More freedom fries from the right...... it is not a war on drugs, it is a war on personal freedom... and it is driven by the right. Remember that at ALL times.

Panel chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) wasted no time going after Holder on the issue, raising it before the attorney general had even opened his mouth.

”Attorney General Holder announced that the Justice Department would stop enforcing the federal marijuana ban against persons who comply with state medical marijuana laws,” Goodlatte declared in his opening statement.

“The Justice Department’s decision not to enforce the Controlled Substances Act in states whose laws violate federal law is not a valid exercise of prosecutorial discretion, but a formal, department-wide policy of selective non-enforcement of an Act of Congress.”

Rep. Howard Coble (R-N.C.) challenged Holder’s statement in January that “public safety” concerns made it wise for the federal government to allow access to the banking system by pot businesses operated legally under recently passed referenda in Colorado and Washington.

“Is there not also a public safety issue from the trafficking of a substance that is still illegal under federal law?” Coble asked.

Pretty much.

Both parties want big gov, they just have different backers of which part to make bigger.

Had to vote 3rd party in the last 2 elections due to this and other BS.

More freedom fries from the right......

Excuse me?

Democrats voted to pass the Pure Food and Drug Act which restricted weed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pure_Food_and_Drug_Act

Senate Vote:
18 democrats voted yes
4 democrats voted 4

House vote:
1 democrat voted yes
72 voted no

Without the democrat vote in the senate the Pure Food and Drug Act would have never passed.

So dont sit there and slam the republicans when democrats helped pass the law.

If you feel the law is wrong, you need to get your legislative representatives to change the law.

The executive branch should not be deciding which laws to enforce and which can be ignored. Their job is to enforce all legislation, not some legislation.

Ya done fucked up TH

But do not post about how the right wing republicans yada yada yada this and that, when democrats helped pass the law.

Democrats helped pass the law, now they do not want to enforce it?

Either enforce the law, or repeal it, there is no middle ground. The government does not have the right to ignore the law.

The liberal's masters are using pot to take our women away from us; pot is the gateway drug for white women to sleep with black men.

It's a joy watching the wing nuts & fringe whacks foaming at the mouth over States Rights & non-enforcement of federal marijuana laws at the same time.

Not to mention the budget cutting & demands for action from the same sources.

It's grand watching them thrash about in futility, making fools of themselves in search of "issues" where they don't contradict themselves.

Federal marijuana enforcement has been down the shitter since 1996, when CA voted for MMJ. Current efforts are like sharks coming in & eating a few beach goers at random, because they can.

It's all about Freedom! from the oppression of the Ebil Obama! anyway.

Fucking maroons.

Harry Anslinger was right- one puff & they'll crave knee-grow dick forever.

I feel so oppressed by it all, so threatened by the tyranny of the black race. Or not.

It's turning into all clown car all the time from our usual self proclaimed libertopian ravers.

Did they rave when the Bush admin failed to enforce the same federal law when it was about MMJ? It's the same law, after all. Were we getting the same absolutist bullshit?

It's only wrong because Obama is doing it. Everything he does is wrong, by definition. It's all his fault- everything!

Hate-Um Obama! Hate-Um!

If you read your quoted text, you might come to the conclusion that the issue is not with pot legalization, but of the Attorney General simply not enforcing an act of congress.

I can understand that argument.

And you guys have no freaking business posing as defenders of personal freedom while defending the individual mandate to the death.

Example #245,729 of a right wing ideologue deciding his frothy cup o rage works better as a hat and shirt ensemble. Heh.

What happened to all the cries of Holder and Obama betraying cannabis fans? Did the talking points get changed again already?

Yep, some conservative Congress critters who hail from Repub controlled states rain down holy roller wrath when it comes to the preservation of their States Rights against the oppressive Federalisimos. Yet here we have these same folks comically arguing against themselves, all due to their insufferable addiction for bashing on Obama.

If I recall correctly, Bush/Cheney ignored the blatant violation of Federal regulations that their brethren banksters, corporatists and Wall St. profiteers were committing on a daily basis of which contributed to the financial meltdown we all experienced at the merciful yet tragic end to their stay in office.

These same Repub politicians from the Admin and Congress were probably right in there with those crooks when that shameful giveaway to the very rich was being perpetrated.

Blind desperation & denial. Not that you're capable of noticing, being a victim of your own Obama hate.

Where were you when the Bush Admin refused to enforce the same laws?

Or are your principles somehow different when the unthinkable has happened- there's a black Democrat in the White House? Is that so wrong that everything he does has to be wrong?
