SCOTUS has ruled the razor wire put down by Gov. Abbott must be removed. Texas has not removed the wire and is not giving the Federal government access to remove it.

If you think ignoring a ruling by SCOTUS is a one off, I remind you of Alabama defying the order to create a second majority black district. They kept sending back new maps directly defying the order.

This will be the next attack on Democracy. The so called party of law and order will now just ignore court orders that don't agree with their ideology. 25 Republican Governors back Texas ignoring the Supreme Court.
US Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt — over the last week, in which they encouraged states to ignore court rulings that don't align with their political agendas.

Yet another Republican position proven to be fake. Their aren't many left. Conservative judges and tax cuts for the rich are the last two positions they haven't jettisoned out of the airlock, at least so far.

This is nothing new.

A couple years ago JD Vance advocated for Trump to enact whatever reforms he wanted, and if/when the Supreme Court stepped in, for Trump to simply defy them and essentially say "Make me."

I believe the ruling was that it was within the federal authority to have Border Patrol take down the razor wire not that Texas had to remove the razor wire they put up.

This. The SCOTUS said that the CBP could cut the wire as needed for access... They did not say that Texas had to remove it. Texas stated that CBP could cut it, but it would be replaced when they completed the task that they needed to cut the wire for.

So there is no defiance of the SCOTUS ruling by Texas.

It appears that the razor wire is working pretty well too.

This is a fairly simple supremacy clause issue. Having to repeatedly cut razor wire impedes federal oversight of the border and immigration, where the feds have essentially unlimited authority.

Biden should have the national guard to there and prevent any further razor wire installations in any context where he feels it impedes CBP's mission. States do not have to ASSIST the feds in implementing federal immigration law but they are prohibited from getting in the way of them doing so, and that's how it should be. Mexican-American immigration issues should be solved between the Mexican and American governments. Not Mexico and California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas all in different ways.
