Public backlash against Republicans on their attempt to ban or severely restrict abortion is looking like a loser for them so their next tactic is to rig the game so voters won't have a say in the issue.

Wait, so first they gerrymander so its 60/40 ... and now with their 40% representation they make it so the 60% has to deliver another 60% at the ballot? What's the math on that, a 30% minority rule right there?

Nothing will ever be solved until the American people wake up to the fact that Republicans stand for self destructive chaos. The fact is that people are so deeply asleep and live in such inner misery that they unconsciously seek out chaos as a substitute for real life. "If I can't be happy, why should you?" To be or not to be? That is the question we seek never to consciously consider.

Another weirdly introspective post by Moonbeam. Of course, since he suffers from the same mental impairment that conservatives do, that mix of self absorption and yet lacking entirely in self reflection just highlights his nonsensical thoughts. That last line especially is just chef's kiss perfect summation of everything Moonbeam. Every gun, every bullet, you've bought has supported Republicans. You are how this happened.

Which is why in my opinion you should calm down. They are toast and there's no need for you to blow a gasket yelling about how you need somebody to save you from them. Liberals remain rational in the face of unpleasant emotional experiences, the real ones, that is. Everything is going to be fine. Don't fear because it will cause you to become just that. Nasturally to express fear is fine in therapy and is part of accurate self realization. It is really true that what we fear is fear itself.

I'm not sure if you just haven't read a history book ever or if you have and then you burned history books in your backyard while dancing around holding your guns in a ritual to erase your memory from actual history.

Doesn't the GOP have a supermajority in that state legislature? They will probably just ignore the will of the people if that measure gets voted down, kind of similar to what happened in Kansas (?) with Medicaid expansion.

The OH legislature already ignored their state supreme court with respect to having to draw fair maps. Why would they give a fuck what their residents say?

You know world history, where nationalist movements and other types of similar movements have taken over countless nations in all parts of the world at all times of history and killed hundreds of millions of people and oppressed the hell out of many more.

I did also want to add that I think your attitude is kind of disgusting. We have teenage rape victims having to cross state lines to get an abortion. We have women nearly bleeding to death due to an unhealthy pregnancy because of a lack of abortion access. We had asylum seekers being separated from their kids just for being asylum seekers, We have oppression against the LGBT community, We have anti-Semit, We have mass shootings everywhere, and to you this is conservatives just saying boo? Why don't you tell that to those people dude.

The GOP supermajority in the Ohio state legislature will just ignore their own supreme court, like they ignored them when instructed to draw fair maps. And/or they will ignore the outcome of Issue 1.

Ohio Rs burned a shitload of money and political capital on this and looks like a pretty sound rejection. A lot of the messaging was anti-trans scare mongering stuff too and like the midterms that dog just ain't hunting. If the Rs run on nothing but Trump and trans scare bullshit for 2024 not likely to turn out well for them generally I think.
