the perps look like them. I've been saying it on this forum for a while and now Republicans have proven me right. They don't give a shit about crime as long as their people are doing the criming. I love their sudden interest in how prisoners are being treated. Wonder why?
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee said Wednesday they are planning a visit with some defendants who are being held in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer of Kentucky and Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who also sits on the panel, told ABC News that the committee is planning to send a letter this week to lawmakers regarding the planned visit to the Washington, D.C., detention facility.

Greene said the visit would focus on the conditions of those jailed over Jan. 6, including what she claimed to be "reports of abuse."

"They're pretrial and they haven't even been convicted and they're not allowed to see their families, many times are not allowed to see their attorneys -- the food has been a major complaint," Greene alleged. "There's been complaints of it tasting like cleaner."

Here is the mugshot of someone today's Republicans would have visited in prison just to send their base the proper message. Who is it?

So we're going to get German style prisons which are like hotels with weekends off where you can spend time with your family and then back to the prison hotel?

Pandering to the alt right for votes should be a crime considering what they stand for. It's such a shame that the moderates of the party have given their radicals the ability to gain control over them and take them all over the precipice where creating a fascist state is their only hope of seizing and permanently holding on to power at the national level.

If they gave 5% of the amount of attention these traitors got to other people who are suffering this country would have a noticeable improvement. They still have done nothing since George Floyd died to help racial disparities (in fact they are going the other direction now) but suddenly the US has political prisoners, WTF?

What's so surreal about this Dr. Jekyll/Hyde shtick the Repubs are wrecked on at the moment is there seems to them that there is no self-inflicted conflict, no controversy, no existential threat for them to worry about even though they've had to put up with Trump's self-incriminating tirades for so long, including that tourist charter he booked through the Capitol where so many of those conservative tourists are now in jail being visited by MTG and her entourage to explain to those convicts and indicted ones that they are patriots doing God's work so it's all good although pardons from Trump is being delayed until he gets back what was stolen from him. If that's not insanity defined I don't know what is.

It's all so freakishly bizarre how the party tries to live in an alt reality full of lies and falsehoods while attempting to justify it all to themselves with more lies and falsehoods that is even more bizarre than the original fabrication it was meant to provide cover for. And all this while they find no need to explain themselves to the rest of the world as what the rest of the world has to factually and truthfully say about them simply doesn't matter because it's their only way to avoid having to deal with reality, a reality for which history will judge them quite harshly.

Yup, invade Mexico and put Kari Lake in charge.

Might be too much being she's the real governor of Arizona, may soon be Trump's running mate and then the defacto ruler of Mexi-Cocainistan?

Doubt anyone can severely reduce the drug trade. But if anyone wants to try, Kari might want the gig.

Police should have responded as if black people stormed the capital. Shot on site

I am surprised the President at the time did not, after all he is the law and order President...

oh wait:
In his post on Truth Social, Trump referred to Byrd, a Black 28-year veteran of the Capitol Police, as a "thug" and a "COWARD, who wanted to show how tough he was. ASHLI BABBITT WAS MURDERED!!!”
