Trump thought he was going to lose last time, it did not stop him.

Carville is a folksy moron and his instincts suck.

Yea, he should just be quiet as he will bring back the apparent horrible memories of the Clintons, and stay in his taker state.

Some Russian Oligarch will give OAN a ridiculous amount of money to pay the then former President the biggest salary in history plus be able to keep some simply to allow the Useful Idiot to keep working for Russia without knowing it.
The President is such an extreme Narcissist and has such extreme greed he will never say no nor be capable of reflecting and saying maybe I don’t need this, maybe the Country needs me to be quiet.

Only fail point will be the President will do it like Oprah does. He will appear for a few weeks, then he will get bored of all the prep work and he will stop showing up and delegate all the work to some boring moron.
When he is no longer president, he will have no power, officially back to his previous role, a personality in a really bad reality TV show. When he can not stop investigations, change the rules with EO's, and control only his knuckledragging supporters in their single wide trailers, he will have no value to anyone with any power.

Just another 20 second clip in a video on a "mega fails" on youtube.

Goal is to sow divisiveness, he will be more than capable of doing that.

James Carville trolled it out last week & it turned into a rumor. It's a nice bit of messing with their minds

James Carville.
James Carville?
James Carville???
Note to all democrats, James Carville is your worst nightmare.
James Carville is no friend of the democrats.
James Carville screwed up the 2016 elections by predicting crap that never happened nor was ever true.
James Carville is an idiot and democrats should never follow his advice or pay him any attention what so ever.
James Carville is like an annoying fly that keeps buzzing around and will never let you be until you swat it.
Democrats can win in November but only if they completely ignore James Carville and those like him. And sadly, there are many like him that proclaim alliance to the democratic party.
Shoo that James Carville away.

Really? Seems like extreme overconfidence to me. With strategists like this, no wonder the Dems cant seem to win an election. I saw him on the Bill Maher show, and he was just totally out of it.

He will lose his bully pulpit, a podium with the POTUS seal on it. Perhaps he will partner with Alex Jones on a radio talk show that only the white trash of society listen to.

The trailer park trash that he appeals to will become nothing more than a significant nuisance. When they see their orange god fall, they will just go back to their racism and inbreeding.

Honestly, Pence would be bad for the Democrats. I think he might win back some of the "normal" GOPers who hate Trump and will not vote for him.
Reading the staement you made it sounds real good! But bear in mind I believe Pence would have a worse chance than Trump! Because pence should have been able to keep Trump in line! But instead pence became just another stooge for Trump!
But let us take this one step further, if the Republicans would be able to find a yopunger Republican who is not a part of the Washington establishment then I would say that the Dems have something to worry about!
Especially if the new Repub on the block had no desire to mess with immigrant families or healthcare......

But why not make an exception and crack open the mail in ballots first thing in the morning and start counting immediately. Just sequester the results until polls close.
It will not be to close to call!!

If he gets arrested, I can see the Russians funding a reality TV show of him in prison. He can still be in the bully pulpit, he can still get attention, he can talk to his base since a good percentage will be there with him to create another “cabinet” and they can put this on OAN. If he did create a MAGA channel, it could be all tRump, all the time. Remember how FAUX got started. They started with some really bad shows. The news was an afterthought that Jabba-the-Ailes got to take control of to make it what it is today.

I completely agree, but I think it will be far more than a MAGA TV network, it will be the MAGA Political Party. Trump will split the Republicans if he feels that they are not supporting him enough.
I don't think he wants to head up a political party, his own MAGA party. He'll prefer to go back to being the man behind the main desk at Trump, Incorporated, taking phone calls in the morning, playing golf in the afternoons 3x/week.

It's just too complicated and very expensive to boot. I think they should do everything they can to get it working as well as possible. She said that congress' help is necessary, likely because of the extensive funding that's required.
It's weird the U.S. has such issues with its democratic process. Over here, mail-in voting is a matter of course. To some groups of the population it's the recommended form of voting. There's no need to register to vote; you're automatically registered from the moment you turn 18 until the moment you die. There's no finicky, obsolete, insecure electronic voting machines, we use 100% paper ballots, for proper record keeping. There's no wacky issues with paper chad or shit like that, we use pre-printed ballots; you pick the one for your particular party, there's a list of the top candidates on it already and stick it in an envelope; repeat for local, regional and national level elections. (Write-in of your own candidates is also allowed.)

And you've been at this democracy thing way WAY longer than we have. My country was for many intents a dictatorship up until the early 1900s and women weren't allowed to vote in elections until the 1920s. So I find it strange there's so many procedural problems (or claims of the same anyway.) It's almost like one of the two major parties don't actually like, or want democracy! At all! lol

I don’t know, I am starting to believe this is possible.
After Trumps failed MAGA rally and cancelling others out of low attendance fears, I am beginning to believe this could happen.
I have been thinking the same thing too lately, after having been 1001% convinced prior to his recent corona and BLM stumblings that he would win handily (although completely undeservedly.)

The danger here is complacency, because we've been here before of course; people didn't want to believe he could win the first time 'round either. He was simply too bizarro with his narcissistic egomania, mythomania and bragging, and too vitriolic with his naked, unabashed bigotry, misogyny and racism; a person like that just CAN'T win the presiderpial election! ...But, he did.

So he could, again.

Look at that Kentucky primary to see what voting is going to be like in red states in November. Trump could very well ride historical low turnout to another four years. Turnout as low as it looks to be in November is a Republican wet dream come true.

Our elections function exactly as designed. Low turnout isn't a bug, it's the goal. The US isn't a democracy, it's an oligarchy.

Umm the 2020 Kentucky primary had 9% higher turnout than 2016 and was close to 2008 historic/near historic turnout. That’s also with a delay and a worldwide pandemic going on.

Speaking of odd US election policy. Why is it so hated to force photo ID??? No complaints about it here in Canada.

Because we have no national ID. Not sure why you need one to vote. Penalties are so severe it does not pay to do it. It’s also complicated to pull off. Voter fraud is not prevalent, but one side uses to roil their base.

It basically discriminates against people who have trouble getting IDs (generally poor people, young people and people of color). If you want certain people not to be able to vote, then make it hard for them to get IDs and mandate IDs. This unfortunately is what's going on in many southern states.

I think it's best stated like this. If the government is willing to take and count your tax money without an ID, they should be willing to take your vote without an ID.

What makes you think turnout will be low? And why would it matter? Trumpian insanity peaked perfectly on election day, 2016. He was new, different & exciting in a pugnacious way voters found charming at the time. Shake up Washington! Drain the swamp! What do you have to lose, right?

That won't sell anymore. He's already made fatal mistakes & compounds them on the regular. The thrill is gone, honey. The man lost his Mojo.

It's the goal of the GOP. Fucking Democrats want everybody to vote, even the icky poors & minorities.
I don't think people are going to be complacent this time. We've been whacked upside the head with how serious that malady can be. This is no ho hum election.

I think turnout will be very low in states with Republican governors that won't allow mail in voting, because COVID19 will likely still be raging in them. As much as I hate Trump I wouldn't go vote in person if the election was today considering how much the virus is just exploding in my neck of the woods (San Antonio, Texas). But Trump die-hards think this virus is all a hoax and will absolutely turn up to vote for that corrupt piece of shit, there is absolutely nothing he could do to lose his death cult.
