Anyone who thinks this is a democrat or republican issue is delusional and/or a party hack. This crap happens on both sides of the isle, to the point where the public is somewhat desensitized to this. It should not be tolerated from anyone, regardless of party.

Who is this mytical person advocating "tolerating" sexual misconduct from our politicians? The argument is that disproportionate numbers of Republicans spend a goodly amount of time drumming up votes and penning stump speeches on "family values" and other nonsense. And the fiercest proponents of such "value" laws tend to end up being violators of the laws being pushed.

You know what they say about the homophobes who scream the loudest. It makes perfect sense!

It just seems to happen more on the Republican side of the aisle. Understandable, considering all those sexually repressed religious types on the right.

Yes, it just might seem that way; but then few here on the other side seem to bother with dredging up stories about local (state legislators) Dem pols in trouble.

Our (NC) Democratic Speaker of the House is now in prison, no one ran over here to post about it.

OTOH, some low level pol in a state house no one ever heard gets in trouble and the OP rushes over to post about it.

Another day, another Republican sex scandal. Is there something about conservative values that breeds sexual perversion?

So you take a handful of cases and apply that to an entire group of people?

I am curious, if I could show that <insert race> has more convictions of sexual assault do you think the above would be appropriate?

Is there something about <insert race> values that breeds sexual perversion?

I would think someone who posed a question like that to be an ignorant bigot. What would you think?

Edit: And for the record, I think he should be given a fair trial and if found guilty he should be given the maximum sentence. I personally think that 7 years is FAR too short of a term if he is guilty as charged.

The difference is that these Republicans caught were the very same ones passing more laws against what they have been caught for.

Like Eliot Spitzer pursuing cases against prostitution and later getting caught? :p

Don't forget Barney Frank's boyfriend running a prostitution ring out of Frank's house.
And we can't forget Gary Hart "Follow me around. I don't care. I'm serious. If anybody wants to put a tail on me, go ahead. They'll be very bored." oops...

I am guessing that if you ran numbers you would find both sides have a similar amount of bad apples.

Socialistic (left-wing) way of thinking: For the people, to help the needy.

Republican (right-wing) way of thinking: MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!!

Aid workers: For the people, to help the needy.

Rapists/Murderers/Thieves/Terrorists: MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!!

So rapist Democrats are actually Republicans in disguise.
