From CNN:

"A source in Baghdad told CNN that members of the Republican Guard -- Iraq's top military force -- were heading toward the airport to bolster the Iraqi troops. "

What... are they ig'nant? Them are some dead men rollin'. That's like you deciding to just drive your car off the cliff! Who's bright idea was it on the Iraqi side to send more troops to the airport?

A few of those new 1000 cluster bombs, and few anti-tank javelin missiles, an A10, and a few Apache Longbows, and that Republican Guard will be the Republican 0wnZored! ;)

Sorry if repost

Looks like saddam took direct control of the army again, good news for us, bad news for them. In the Gulf War when he commanded his forces himself, he sent many of them out in the desert to fight toe to toe with the Americans, not a good idea considering we don't really have to get close to bomb them...

Would these be the same ones that I heard them talking about on the news earlier that all loaded up on buses and headed to the fight? I heard one commentator say something along the lines of "...they got there and got off the buses.... after we blew 'em up." :)

The last time I heard, the US has maybe 2000 troops holding the airport. What price will they pay to hold the airport against the Republican Guard?

Probably lots of spent amunition. The Republican guard is nothing but cannon fodder against US forces.
