What are the implications of this and what policy changes are likely to occur?

1) Appointment of activist judges to the courts
2) Making the Patriot Act permanent along with tax cuts

Are any of the Supreme Court Justices who are likely to retire in the next 4 years Liberal or Moderate? If they all are Conservative like Rehnquist then replacing them with other Conservatives will just keep the Status Quo

The Republicans also control the Supreme Court for now and for the forseeable future. The US is clearly continuing it's movement to the right on the political scale. But now we will start to see the results of that movement for real in legislation that will cement this movement in every day life for the American people.

This is somewhat scary, no balance at all. I would prefer it if there was a democratic house if there's a republican president. And if the president was a democrat, I'd like to see a republican house. But as it looks now, and the possiblity of bush appointing someone to the SC, well, ugh... That's all I can say.

Not sure which is appropriate, but that is 100% correct. And yes, I thought it was a clever pun (I cought it)
