1-5-2004 RNC attacks Bush-Hitler ad - Moveon.org spot compares president with German dictator

WASHINGTON ? Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie called on the nine Democrat presidential candidates to repudiate an ad posted on the Moveon.org website comparing President Bush to Adolf Hitler.

The ad shows a series of pictures of Hitler speaking in German. Text on the screen reads as follows: "We have taken new measures to protect our homeland ... I believe I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator ... God told me to strike at al-Qaida and I struck them ... and then He instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did."

"Sound familiar?" asks the text, to the sound of cheering Germans.

ADL Says Hitler Ad Should Never Have Appeared on MoveOn.org

Simon Wiesenthal center criticizes MoveOn.org for posting ad comparing Bush to hitler

First ad that was posted then pulled by MoveOn.org
Second ad posted and pulled by MoveOn.org

I actually laughed at the ridiculousness of the "ads". I can't believe any self respecting human would take those ads seriously. It's a nice try at a headline grab though MoveOn.org - mission accomplished...I guess

Does anyone know of working mirrors? The cowardly Nazis at the RNC took them down. :D

Didn't some renegade Republicans run an ad comparing Daschale to Bin Laden in 2002? I saw them talk about this on Crossfire yesterday. I don't think it's fair to condemn a whole group on the actions of a few

MoveOn has disavowed the ads, but the RNC still seems to like 'em- the only place they can be viewed is at the RNC site...

The New York Post recently ran an article comparing Dean to Hitler, even referring to him as "HerrHowie", Grover Norquist equated taxing the Rich to the Holocaust in a NPR interview, and Bush supporters ran an ad that morphed Max Cleland's face into that of Bin Laden. So, uhh, let's not allow any more moral outrage than the "victims" actually deserve, OK?

And if you want to reach back far enough, there's the Willie Horton affair, where Repubs ruthlessly exploited White Fear and stereotypes of Black Criminals...

MoveOn has selected the 15 finalist ads, which can be viewed here-

Bush in 30 Seconds

I don't think the RNC will be using their bandwidth to host any of these....

Actually it seems that the RNC has pulled them now too;) If you want to get into a pissing match over who is "worstester" then fine but these two ads that "slipped through" and were posted are the topic at hand. It wasn't only the RNC that said something - it was a few other orgs too. You people who are trying to defend either the ads or MoveOn(who admitted they shouldn't have posted those two ads) best ready yourself for when the flood gates open and the REAL campaigns start.:D
