The children of a South Carolina politician accused of battering his wife can be heard screaming "just stop, Daddy" on a 911 call recording.

Republican representative Chris Corley has been charged with first degree domestic violence and pointing a firearm at a person.

The call was made on Monday evening, and released by police to local media.

Mr Corley, 36, recently voted for legislation toughening punishments for domestic violence.

Oh the hypocrisy of politicians (esp conservatives it seems).. Reminds me of anti-gay legislator Larry Craig (Rep) caught in bathroom making overtures to man in adjoining stall. Gingrich going ballistic over Clintons infidelity with Monica L while himself committing adultery at same time. Bush supporter Evangelical minister Ted Haggard loudly preaching against abortion, premarital sex, adultery and gay marriage and ooops... a male escort (Mike Jones) comes out saying he was not only paying for his sexual services, but also doing crystal meth with him 😀.

And the list goes on...

Do conservatives have repressed tendencies that eventually blow up in some manner or another in real life? That the harder one tries to repress them, the stronger the likelihood it blows up? Seems so to me.

Repression of emotional needs that are natural for humans to have leads to perversion of those natural desires and causes them to be sought in forbidden and taboo ways. This is why we sometimes refer to them as guilty pleasures. We want the gratification of our real needs for love and acceptance to be met, but that avenue was blocked in childhood by the application of guilt, so we have to decisive and lie to ourselves about feelings. This is why the issue of self hate is so vital to understand.
