Isn't it in the Constitution that a lawmaker can't be stopped or impeded while en route to a legislative gathering?

within reason. Stopping to ID a person is not the same as detaining her in a room. The officer should have slapped her back...granted, it would have cost him his job after the firestorm ended, but sometimes things are worth it

Even so, how would he have known that since she wasn't wearing her pin?

I'm glad he stopped and questioned her. That's the kind of security guard I would want working for me - one who's not afraid to approach someone even if they did just walk by the other security guards uncontested. kudos to him.

I was thinking it must have been a black officer since she didn't pull out her race card. Seems she had just left at home but she brought it today............
