The problem with the Patriot Act, or with any law that seeks to target terrorists, is that this isn't TV land. In the real world, we actually have to investigate people to find out they are terrorists a lot of the time. So this idea of Americans having all their freedoms while the government has expanded power to "go after terrorists" just isn't realistic. What happens is that the government has expanded power to go after everyone, because if they knew they were terrorists, they would be able to get judge or jury approval, right?
