Got this link from a friend of mine...I don't think this can happen even if the telecom companies want to do this...unless they're all in it.

The Internet is consisted of millions of routes and devices owned by so many providers. I can't imagine how they can cap the speed to a particular site by one or a few providers.

What do you guys think? Some political trick?

There indeed has been other similar threads w/ same topic.
They're all too political though...was looking for a more technical response.
Anyway, please ignore this one.

Please search before posting, we've talked about this before.

Executive summary: belongs on the politics forum.

More government regulation to solve a hypothetical problem.

That site was actually very educational.

Supporters of 'net neutrality include: Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, Feingold, Inouye, and Clinton.

That should be a clue right there.

Cooky,

search might not help you, but I've posted a ton about this in order to dispel all the misinformation flying around. You may be able to find something using my username as the poster and neutrality in the body of the search.

cmetz has it summed up pretty well."More government regulation to solve a hypothetical problem. "

The difficulty comes from the fact that this is a very, very, very deeply technical arena and is misunderstood by tons of people and even worse the politicians.
