This was posted some time ago, but I would like to refresh everyone's memory on these great cables at awesome prices. I thought these may be useful for some since Christmas just passed. Since they are from Onvia they have free shipping also. I own this one, and it has served me well. They have 6 ft for the same price and 15 ft for a little more but they are out of stock on both right now.

Hi. I assume that the cable can't be used to connect 2 PC's, right? (because it says USBA/USBB, which I assume is like the M/F on serial cables) What would be needed to do that? Thanks.

If I was feeling like an jackazz, I would say you needed a USB hub. But really, you can't do that!!!!! USB doesn't work like old style serial in that aspect. You need to get some sort of ethernet (network) to do that. There are USB ethernet adapters that can be had for about $30.

I think laplink just came out or is coming out with a pc to pc transfer via usb cables. That would make things WAY faster than either the parallel or serial versions. I'd assume they'd include the correct cable though in the box.

USB A to USB A does not work, the only cables that are out there as such, violate the USB specs. It has to do with the arbitration of the signals. Basicily as I heard it, it is like haveing two masters on one cable, so you need a USB X-OVER-MODULE. This will work without any extra conversion. Personally for my communication networks I use CAN (Controller Area Network), but that is a different story.
