Check out your best buy weekly ad. They have these MAxwell CDR's for 2.99 after rebate. Take this ad to circuit city where they have it for 24.99. After pricematch (110%), these CDRs will be 80 something cents out the door!! The cashier was laughing when he told me how much it was. I grabbed three for 2 bux and a few quarters!!!
The advertisement is on the last page.

These CDRs are made in taiwan but for under 1 buck, im not complaining. They burn at 48X easilty even though they are rated at 40X

Wait - 87 cents out the door? you mean no rebate required? Doesnt their PM policy not work on stuff like that?

What do you mean it doesnt work on stuff like that? Best buy has it for 2.99 AR. If CC doesnt have a rebate for it, they have to give you the price that Best is offering with the rebate. ITS GREAT!!

Yeah, I tried that once with Fuji CD-R's that Best Buy had for $2.99 AR and Circuit City had for $25. They wouldn't pricematch them for me. Definetly YMMW on this one.

usually they don't price match 'after-rebate' because that comes from the manufacturer not the retailer, so in those cases the retailer isn't actually selling it for that price so they don't get pm'ed. I don't think this is going to fly everywhere, but you never know....like you found out.

I know krackato tried once at Best buy and Circuit city with some Fuji CD-r's. He was unsuccessful so YMMV.

I did this earlier this week....and found out it's definitely a YMMV deal..

I called ahead of time and got a newbie guy in electronics who told me he **thought** they'd PM the BB price of $2.99 AR. When I got down there, they wouldn't do it, so I had them call the newbie guy to the register and I told them he had told me they **would** do it. They told me they wouldn't do it anymore, but since he had told me, they'd do it just this once. I ended up getting 3 spindles, whereas @ BB, I'd have only been allowed one with the rebate involved.

They would only PM to the $2.99 and wouldn't do a 110% PM. They also charged me tax on $75 for three spindles, so I walked out paying $11.25 for 150 CDRs. Not 89 cents, but not too shabby either.

** Daylight savings just kicked in and bumped my post up three notches. I actually read the next three posts before i posted this and the system inserted mine before theirs. Took me a minute to realize what was happening.
