Add each item on page you want until you reach 100. Then just pop in your favorite coupon, voila! You pay taxes and around 20.00 after all MIR and coupon. I used 25 off 100, then added free laptop case (info on FW). Free Shipping of course. If you want to add other items, you could run up to 200. Then get 40 of 200. :)

Please Note: This is not the same page as the Tax Center you can access at website. This is a link from an email I/others received. The website conveniently forgets to include the Noton Firewall and AntiVirus 30 Mir and 20 upgrade MIR! You could always add them, but this is easier.

Note 2: I was looking up info on Quicken. com and discovered that you can have either the Turbotax/Quicken combo rebate or the Quicken upgrade rebate, but not both. I guess if Quicken has upgrade form in it you have to choose.

Note 3: I believe there is also a 20 MIR on Mcaffee VirusScan 6(?). I saw rebate form but I do not know details.

Final Note (really!): I went to Staples after ordering this yesterday and was able to get hardcopy rebate forms for these offers. They do not currently show at Staples rebate center or RebatesHQ yet.

Hope this helps:D

To sweeten this deal, TurboTax "Deluxe" (and, perhaps, higher-level versions) ALSO includes (about) $42 in rebates for:

* One TurboTax STATE program (~$30 for the California version).
* Electronic Filing (e-file) of Federal tax forms (~$12, if I recall).

(The "Basic" version of TurboTax, I believe, does NOT offer these freebies.)

"E-filing" can dramatically reduce the time it takes to get a refund (about 2 weeks, last year, if I recall), and you can have refunds deposited directly into your bank account.

I just bought McAffee VirusScan 6.0 for 39.99 at Staples B&M. I needed a PNY Smartmedia Card reader for 19.99, but wanted to use 10 off 30 so I needed something else. I got McAffee VirusScan 6.0 out of display that had 20 MiIR with Tax software purchase and 20 off upgrade/compettive MIR. I just happen to have a previous version that qualifies, but you can use the Norton and McAffee products against each other in this deal!! This required a photocopy of Turbotax UPC so I believe you can get both AntiVirus for free after MIR with Turbotax purchase. I got PNY SmartMedia card reader for 9.99!!!

BTW, I did order TT Deluxe. Thanks for clarifying my ambiguous post. :)

I just really started fishing on the best Quicken/TurboTax deal today. The rebates were confusing enough I passed on the deals at Compusa etc that I looked at a couple weeks ago. So far a few different things seem important, but which is the "best" deal I haven't guessed yet.

In Calif the state return is as big a mess if not worse than Fed, so TurboTax Deluxe which includes a download of the state software is a no brainer.

Same for the Deluxe version of Quicken over the basic. The bundled features are cheap for the price difference.

Best prices I see outright are Costco.com has TurboTax Deluxe for $33.99 ($23 AR) +$4.99 S&H, and Buy.com and couple other places have Quicken Deluxe for $37.45.

Nothingbutsoftware had a couple interesting prices, Quicken 2002 Deluxe & Personal Lawyer 2002 $26.95 . I wonder if it qualifies for the rebate from TurboTax? Shows as out of stock anyway.

TurboTax has a $10 MIR, and the deluxe version also includes free State download and $12 rebate for electronic filing.
Quicken has two rebates, $30 MIR if bought withing 30 days of TurboTax, and $20 rebate for update from a previous version. It isn't clear at all to me yet if you can get both.

If somebody doesn't do it sooner, I may take a whack at calculating all the sale price, vs shipping, vs coupons in a couple days.

Here's how I did it:

39.95 TurboTax Deluxe 475816
29.95 Quicken Basic 465145
49.99 Norton AntiVirus 469111
59.99 Laptop bag 471600
89.99 3 piece luggage 459784
14.94 Organize software 459837
-10.00 Turbotax rebate
-29.95 Quicken rebate
-15.00 Organizer software rebate
-20.00 Norton upgrade rebate
-30.00 Norton rebate
-59.99 Laptop bag coupon code (find on FW)
-89.99 Luggage coupon code (also find on FW)
-------
29.88 + tax total for all that!

I tried using some $$$ off codes, but they were rejected for not having enough purchased. With the tax software deal, you're supposed to get some check software for 2.95 and then 2.95 off. However, using the code for that gives errors with the luggage and laptop bag, so I scrapped that useless software :)

Interesting.

dboy:

Can you have both Norton upgrade rebate ($20) and Norton combo rebate ($30)?

If so, I will jump in on this. :)

Would you please PM me the laptop coupon code? I can't find it anywhere, even on FW.

Staples was showing your choice of antivirus or firewall for free after rebate with purchase of tax software. They defined that as $50 - 20 upgrade rebate - 30 combo rebate, so I'd say we're eligible for both.

dboy:

In the Symantec rebate form it says to get the addtional $20 rebate will require 'proof of previous ownership of any Norton, Symantec or McAfee software', guess I need to open my drawer and find out did I keep any old receipts to prove this, erghhh..

When I bought mcafee before, they took a copy of the cd or the cover of the manual as proof of ownership for the upgrade rebate.

Anyone have more info on the turbotax state or efiling info? I ordered the deluxe, but I haven't seen anything on those two items (I'd definitely like both!)

Since I really didn't want to deal with so many rebates and also would no be able to get upgrade rebates since I didn't have the product in the first place, I did the following at Staples B&M-:

39.95 TurboTax Deluxe
30.15 Quicken Basic ***Note this was bought as a separate transaction but on the same visit. added paper clips to get just over 30.00
2.95 Versa Check
14.99 Printing software
-10.00 10off30 coupon (for turbotax transaction)
-10.00 10off30 coupon (for Quicken Basic transaction)
-10.00 Turbotax rebate
-2.95 Versa Check Free Instantly
-14.99 priniting software Free instantly
-30.00 Quicken Basic rebate
-------
10.10 + tax total for all that!

I will also be getting free TurboTax State and free E-filing after rebate.

dboy,

good job on getting the backpack/laptop case and luggage!! I tried for over an hour with different combinations of coupons and oreder entries to get them both........no luck!!!! I also ditched the Versacheck software, it was causing coupon problems!!!

The rebate for State filing and efiling are in Turbotax box......these are being shipped from all over the place, I will be getting several shipments.

I did the Staples WinXP digital camera/tons o' software deal back in October. That was also a ton of rebates. I am merely reporting that I did get every one of the rebates that I was due!!! Got them all within a 2 month period. If you are careful, you should have no problems getting the rebates.

Great post chrisjor! Also thanks to jbloggs for your adaptation.
I too am looking for the best combination of Turbo Tax + Quicken.
Anyone have any new angles for this deal?

I was ready to jump on this deal, but couldn't find any $10 off coupons. Our favorite coupon sites have a $10 off $20 coupon, but it turns out to only be a $5 off code now. Is the 10 off 30 mentioned above B&M only? If not can someone please PM me the code?
No local Staples for me so I'm looking for new ideas to get TurboTax + Quicken for under $20 AR.

KCEngineer- check this thread: Free Airline companion ticket & Lots of software free with TurboTax or TaxCut CompUSA .

CompUSA ad from Sunday, Jan 20 says buy TurboTax Deluxe 2001 287930 for $29.97 after$10 MIR and get a free airline companion ticket coupon via mail with purchase.

Also get free after rebates with the Turbo Tax purchase the following: Quicken 2002 Basic, Norton AV 2002, TurboTax multistate version, McAfee Internet Security, My MailList & Address Book and VersaCheck express.

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry guys...I am completely unable to synthesize all the possibilites w/ this deal...b/c there are soooooooooo many...i.e. fed, state, rebate (can't have this one if you have that one) too many questions that I couldn't back up if I tried to make a deal outta something for my fellow friends here...so, I'll just add my "$.02"

Link to the $50 ING Direct Thread

Check this thread to find any additional information you would like on getting this FREE $50 <----- (ALL OF THOSE text switches are there for a reason! :)) IT's REALLY FREE!

So, if any of your can make something better out of this deal and get posted in a new topic or keep this bumped...well..then I think that we'll REALLY be making tax time a BIT easier on ourselves and our fellows! :D

Happy money transfering! :D

God Bless

I will look into this again!! I forgot about this deal awhile ago but I will look again. I believe that Staples will most likely be the best source for a deal as the rebates do not end until March (I think)!

Tanner,

For some reason, I keep thinking you look like your Icon!!! You have such energy!! I love you dude!!!!!!!

yeah... remember back in the days of the ol' Pacific Digital = Lite-On or Mitsumi for $31 or less dealio? man THOSE were the days! I honestly think that together, you and I and the others in that thread caused a NATIONWIDE lowering of the price on THAT BURNER by @ LEAST 50-100 dollars in rebates and coupons available! Isn't that AWESOME! whaddya think?:D

God Bless

S00NBAEK,

Your PM is not on. I believe you have to turn it on in your profile. Go to ableshoppers. com and find list of Staples codes.
