Reporters in Baghdad

I have to say these are some brave individuals to still be reporting from within the capital...
It still surprises the heck out of me when they say and now reporting from Baghdad.....

CNN said that there are Iraqis *with* their reporters. Ergo, they can't say too much about where they are or what we're looking at.

If they're found, won't the Iraqi soliders kill them? They're brave, indeed.

Why would they?

Hell, Saddam has done interviews with reporters.

He loves the attention.

i mean dont they know we are about to bomb the heck out of the capital...man brave and stupid actually not sure which adjective id describe them with

Couldn't pay me enough to be there and that type of glory is fleeting anyway!!

Remember Wolf Blitzer there and on TV during the initial attack of the Gulf War?

Brave is a very misused word.

Last night, they were discussing why some of the reporters had chosen to stay.
The response was that some of them had waited too long to leave and while attempting to use the overland route to Jordan, had run into harassment, etc. It was a debate as to whether they should try to continue to leave or return to Baghdad. The consensus was it was 'safer' to return to Baghdad and wait it out. So, there they sit...

Makes you wonder what kind of harassment they were running into?

There was a Yahoo headline last night that said something to the effect that CBS left Baghdad and that CNN was now the only network (I assume they mean American network) with reporters still in Baghdad. Yet last night, ABC had their own reporter (the caucasian guy who speaks Arabic) giving them updates and I believe it was NBC who has old what's-his-name (Peter Arnett?) back in there under the guise of working for 'National Geographic.' I think Fox News was using reporters from the British Sky News network. So that headline saying CNN was the only one with reporters kind of puzzled me.

While I'm sure they're a bit on edge I doubt the Iraqis would actually do anything to them. After all, they give the Iraqis some of their best PR.

i dont watch cnn often but that chick last night was hot...hmm i think it was cnn or was it foxnews...

you got to think they be used as human shields or hostages as soon as the sh1t hits the fan though

on an unrelated topic im listening to apnews on winamp and they were talking to a 4 star general abrahms....is that the guy who the tank is named after?

We are not going to bomb the heck out of Baghdad.

Brave is one of the adjectives I'd use to describe 'em.

But certainly not the only one! 😛

I think they are brave, but I think they are probably more worried about some "cowboy" Iraq soldiers than dying by a misguided US bomb or missle.

I wonder why Saddam allows the use of the live television broadcasts from stationary cameras when they are very good at accessing damage from missles.

Wouldn't Saddam try to scramble those broadcasts or try to disconnect the cameras so that we cannot see how much damage we have done?

Maybe I am ignorant of why we are allowed to have so many stationary cameras pointed at Bahgdad. shrug
