A schlock softporn director named Alan Roberts has been identified as the director of the film that ridicules Muslims and the prophet Muhammed and has incited violent protests across the Middle East, according to a report by Gawker published Saturday.

first we hear it's an Israeli-American, then an Egyptian Christian, and now a porn director? o_O

According to this site, Alan Roberts is AKA Alan Brownell:

interesting.

I've seen the Muhammed video. No way that was either directed or produced by a professional.

Friggin' muslims. "You called us a violent religion well now we're going to prove it to by killing people."

Muslims believe that all non-muslims must be elimated so either convert or die.

Sounds pretty Satanic to me.

I have come to the conclusion that he's really the reincarnation of Ed Wood.

From the article you link it seems that guy is just the director. He may be in the same position as the actors claim - did not know it was about Muhammad.

The dubbing etc would have been done in post-production, and it seems to me that is usually the work of the producer (and tech staff).

Does it really matter who made the film? Is it relevant? No. There are no laws in this country prohibiting the making of that film. The film was made, and crazies all over the world react exactly the way you'd expect crazies to react.

Here is a fun fact.

The Jews are always responsible for all evil in this world. They drink the blood of goyem children, also they rape innocent goyem women.

/HITLER.

In case you didn't notice the above was sarcasm, but this is just for the clarification for all those who are universally stupid.

instead of contributing to the discussion, you resort to personal attacks. :\

stay classy, EK

Please explain why a softporn director has any relevance on the movie impact. The movie was shot under false pretenses by the producer. Did you see any softporn of any type in the movie? what were you looking for?

Why did you bring it up? It's irrelevant who the director was. Are you disappointed that he wasn't a Jew?

Serious question: who has actually SEEN this stupid movie?

It actually is nothing even resembling Satanism.

IIRC, I read that film opened for one day at a small theatre in CA. Not one ticket was sold.

So, outside of those who worked on the film it seems like no one has seen it.

:D +1

In Sandeagle's defense, I too found it interesting, and I don't think it's unusual to assume the director knows the gist of a film even though it's theoretically possible for him to be duped.

I'm not buying the "sparked protests" part though. Muslims showed up at prayers, were told to riot, so they rioted. If not this, it would have been any one of a thousand other things. No one really believes all or most of the clerics across the Middle East (or the billion Muslims themselves) simultaneously discovered an obscure Internet video.

Apology for what?

Asking you a question on why the porn record of the director has any bearing on the movie.

You were the one that put that tidbit in the title of this thread; It must have some bearing to you on such.

There's more to the film than the 14 mintue so-called trailer? Even that was so terrible that if it wasn't to find out what all the controversy was about I never would have lasted all the way through it. I can't imagine a full length movie.

it's an hour and 15 minutes.

personally i think it should be required viewing for film studies majors.

but then, i hate film studies majors.
