Hey, some of my family back in Taiwan were downright petrified when China did "missile tests."

Did anyone else notice how trivially they viewed the lives of their own people?
"We Chinese will prepare ourselves for the destruction of all of the cities east of Xian. Of course the Americans will have to be prepared that hundreds ... of cities will be destroyed by the Chinese, ..."

Geez, talk about inhuman. And actually, that kinda is China's official stance. They've often said stuff like "any means neccessary" to keep Taiwan from becoming independent and from international interference in an "internal affair."

I'm sure this topic has been played out several times in the politics and news forum.

Meh, someone, somewhere in the chain of command has the common sense to know that "any means neccessary" means "I'll never see tommorrow, and neither will anyone else". They like to posture. It's just what they do. Same with the North Koreans. They know they'd be fscked if they actually did anything, they just like to talk the big talk.

Um, no. If it's just the US and China involved, not enough nuclear weapons will be used to cause that effect.

I suspect that if China uses ONE nuclear weapon on a major US city, the American people will probably demand that China be reduced to a such a state that they will never be able to use nuclear weapons again on the US (and this will likely result in the destruction of China as a civilization). If China uses its entire aresenal against the US, then China's destruction as a civilization is guaranteed.

like I said in the other thread, if china wants to nuke us, they better hurry up. In another 10-20 years, we'll have enough ABM systems to more or less stop what they throw at us while we turn china into a smoldering wasteland.
