Report Child porn?

jonMEGA

Golden Member
I was browsing the newsgroups (usenet) and found a pic of child porn. I sent an email to the news provider, but is there something or somewhere esle that I can report this to (FBI, or something) to prevent this type of stuff? I have the header info from the post:

i doubt much action will come from finding a single pic. the authorities are searching for the sources and major distributors, not some little teenager who happened to download a child porn pic renamed to "Pamela Anderson.jpg"

It was sent from easynews? Isn't that a web-based NG? I really can't see what anybody can do about it... it could be posted by somebody from Russia or Thailand.

This just wasn't just a young looking woman, this was a 3-4 year old kid performing oral sex on an adult male..... It turns my stomach just thinking about it. :disgust:

It's hard to imagine the terrible things that have been done to children and the adults who get pleasure out of it :/

Are you going to report the pirated software that you were looking for in the first place, too?

Software and child porn are two TOTALLY different things.

Illegal software.

And

different things yes, but both illegal.

not entirely. both are breaking the law. if you can't see that.....

not to mention now that he's seen it, he's in possession of child porn. you just don't "find" child porn on usenet without bothering to click on stuff. time to wipe his explorer cache 7 times over. possession of child porn even by accident is a crime.

True but the comment about illegal software has nothing whatsoever to do with jonMEGA's request on how to report child pornography.

well you see, to be consistent he should turn himself in for software piracy or copy right theft while he's at it.

True, but there are different degrees. Would you call the police if you seen somebody selling bootlegged cologne? Would you call the police if you seen somebody getting raped?
