Man I hope you're duck hunting or else I think your luck is almost up.

No lead #7 bird shot once, but still up close it can kill, and with a 22 another time. I hunt about 30x a year so it;s part of game. My best friend has no leg from his brother blowing it off when crossing fence, with birdshot!.

Not too worried about it. There was a study by RAND that showed only 2% of victims are westerners, 98% are in fact Muslim or those not quite Muslim enough. They also said you have a greater chance of death by car accident than Mujaheddin. Honestly I worry about hunting accidents way more than terror. I've been shot twice.

Before the US went in and fucked up the area the majority, OVERWHELMING majority of terrorist attacks (it was something like 97% of all terrorist attacks) were Hindus in the Philippines.

It was unheard of in Iraq and Afghanistan and Iraq never did sheit towards any other nation either.

Yeah, i'm trying to send e-mails at the same time because i've been off for two weeks (anyone notice that the drone got the house and while the person they were after got away he's reported as dead now? Or perhaps i'm ahead of the news updates) and people worry about me and i don't really know why the Phillipines ended up in that post because i wasn't supposed to write that anywhere else either but there you go...

Thank you for the correction.

Accommodation and understanding are better than violence.

Depends on what you are building.

Samuel P Huntington: "The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do."

Yep the war on terror has been an epic clusterfvck of truly resplendent proportions. Like putting out a fire by trying to drown it with gasoline. Terrible mess the US government has really blundered it superbly.

Yeh, but Bush cronies made a lot of money off it, still are, which was the whole point, anyway. That, and scaremongering votes...

Yes, and my guess is that even if you happen to be a Muslim, and therefore in the 98%, your chances of dying from terrorism are still low compared to other causes.

My concern is not that I might die from a terrorist attack, as the chances are extremely remote. It is entirely what it might do to the economy. I am concerned about the economy enough as it is, even without any terrorist threat. I just don't think we can afford the economic ripple effect that is caused by a larger scale terrorist attack during this down cycle.

Also, we'd be running all over the world, bombing the shit out of everyone, spending more budget on military. Not to mention Patriot Act, part deux.
