These are two cult classics that people watch over and over again way into the 100s. Which would you pick as the better one?

I love both those movies, but I would give a slight edge to "Big Trouble in Little China".

However, "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" beats both of 'em, IMHO. :)

Buckaroo is definately a good flick as well. What's that actors name again? I liked him in Naked Lunch too. Now that was a weird flick!

yasha:

Peter Weller is the actor you're thinking of. He was also very good in the original "RoboCop".

I love Repo Man (and its soundtrack is one of my all-time favorites), but to me it does not hold up nearly as well as BTILC. That movie rules! Actually I love all of the John Carpenter/Kurt Russell movies, especially The Thing.

Haha.. . when I was 10, I went through a whole 'Ninja Phase' where my friend and I would rent every R-rated martial arts movie in existence.. . We rented Big Trouble In Little China and we must have watched it 8 times during the 4-day rental period.

I thought it was funny when the fat lady passed out after eating too much.. I laughed my 10-year-old ass off.

Repo Man is classic.... Its the most entertaining film about the bomb since Dr. Stranglove!

Debbi: Duke, let's go do some crimes.
Duke: Yeah! Let's go get sushi and not pay.

Duke: The lights are growing dim Otto. I know a life of crime has led me to this sorry fate, and yet, I blame society. Society made me what I am.
Otto: That's bullxxxx. You're a white suburban punk just like me.
Duke: Yeah, but it still hurts.

Bud: Credit is a sacred trust, it's what our free society is founded on. Do you think they give a damn about their bills in Russia? I said, do you think they give a damn about their bills in Russia?
Otto: They don't have bills in Russia, it's all free.
Bud: All free? My ass! What are you, some kind of commie?
Otto: No, I ain't no commie.
Bud: Good. I don't want no commies in my car. No Christians either!

I've seen BTILC but I've never seen Repo Man. I guess I should go see it since everyone likes it.

I haven't seen RepoMan but I love Big Trouble in Little China!!! That movie is so hiarlious, hahahaah. There are just so many funny scenes it would be too long to name them, haha.

And if you understand chinese-cantonese, it's funnier!

my favorite scene in btilc is the once where egg gives kurt ands the rest of the guys that drink and kurt asks him what is in it and he says something like "its an 8 bag dragon" and kurt says "awesome, and 8 bag dragon" and they are all sitting in the elevator feeling really good and confident...that is a really funny part

also like "they Live"
