replacing stock heatsink

I recently got all the parts for a new build except for the Zalman heatsink and the articlean remover. It's an athlon x2 system. Now the heatsink probably won't be here until tuesday. However, I really want to get the system up and running this weekend. My question is, should I set up everything with the stock amd heatsink and then install the zalman heatsink in a few days?

I have arctic silver 5 now so I would remove the OEM wax on the heatsink with high purity isopropyl alcohol and then apply the AS5 to the cpu heatspreader, and then wait till tuesday to install the Zalman heatsink. Is this a good course of action? Since AS5 has no adhesive qualities I should be fine right?

thanks all

Since you like me with a new build, I get anxious too. If you got the time, why not.

I had an Arctic Freezer Pro on my AMD 3500+. but put back my stock HSF after cleaning and dabbing a little AS5. Good stuff, eh?

Get everything up and running so when you get the Zalman, you can .......

Good building!
