The thing that the stock HS clamps onto. It's the part that you don't have to take off to clean the HS/F or even replace the CPU.
EDIT:
Anyway, it broke. I don't know how, or when. Is there anywhere to replace this without buying a whole new HS/F or MB? Preicewatch, google, newegg and ZZF didn't turn up anything, probobly because I don't know what it's called.

Whoops!

I like creative ideas, but the noise of P3 fans are more than I want to handle! I've got 2 inside my server case and I even unplugged one of them due to noise. :Q

Well, if you can't find anything else, and happen to have a good SocketA heatsink lying around, there's this thing that lets you use your SocketA heatsink on your P4. Twisted, I know... :)

The name I'd give that thing you are after is a "Pentium 4 heatsink-retention cage." Maybe put up a WTB thread in For Sale/Trade, because someone's going to have one left over from a dead board or from upgrading to a bolt-down heatsink.

"Heatsink Retention Bracket"

Available here for $2.99.

Also from here for $5. It's listed on the "Motherboards" page under "accessories".

I've seen them at other online places too. They're also available at Fry's B&M for $5. If you're near a Fry's you might want to check that out.
