Replacing regulad HD to SSD

I want to replace the regular HD of my mac pro, but I dont know if 120gb is enough since I will be using external HD for my files.
 
Can you give more details?

Also, the cost difference between 120GB and 240GB SSDs is about $20-25, get a 240GB if you're concerned.
