So I'm doing this for the first time. I have a 91 miata.
I found several guides and videos, but I haven't found a video specifically for changing miata's rear brakes.
From what I see, you can only push the caliper piston back on the miata and you can't open it up. I find it really hard to change the pads with the piston merely pushed back.
Also some sources suggest cleaning and scrubbing everything down, while some doesn't mention anything about cleaning. Mine doesn't even really look rusty. Should I still clean it? Would just spraying it with some brake cleaner be sufficient?
The brakes came with a packet of brake grease that it says to place where there are moving parts. I don't see any of the sources mention anything about brake grease. Should I just ignore this?
