Vehicle - Toyota Sienna 2004 XLE with rear audio system

Basic plan:
Found in intro-plan-flatfile.pdf (link above)

Simply, I want to replace a rear audio system with a Magdayne iPad 2 mount. It looks easy enough. I have found potential locations to tap the necessary connections, but I have some additional questions on the electrical wiring before proceeding.

First off, can someone help me decipher some of the text on Rear-seat-audio-wiring-diagram.pdf (link above)?

On page 323, it shows the a block diagram of the rear seat audio controller. What are the following?

RSR+
RSR-
RSL+
RSL-
SLD
RMUT
TX+
TX-
+B

Also, does GND normally refer to chassis ground or battery ground?

Second, based on the Magdayne wiring diagram (see intro-plan-flatfile.pdf), I am confident that I can make the following connection:

Black wire (ground) - vehicle body

I have some questions about the following connections, though:

Red wire (ignition) - Will connecting this wire to the ACC pin work?

Yellow wire (battery) - For constant 12V, I believe the nearest connection to the battery terminal is on the interior light RH no. 1 (see location in intro-plan-flatfile.pdf) (see wiring diagram in interior-lights-wiring-diagram.pdf).

White wire (door) - On page 129 in interior-lights-wiring-diagram.pdf, I'm assuming I can tap into Pin 3 (Door / red-white wire) of I21 / Interior Light RH No.1. I am wrestling between two ideas:
1. Cut a portion of the insulation of the red-white wire wrap / solder another wire. Run this new wire through the iPad 2 mount.
or
2. Use a T Tap like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sGbES2_Tg0 .

Any tips, I greatly appreciate. Thanks!

That right there tells me you probably shouldn't be wiring this yourself.

Ground is ground. The chassis is a ground...because it's connected to the battery. Everything else subsequently connects to the chassis.

I'm gonna guess RSR and RSL are the rear speakers. +B is battery voltage. TX is serial data.

Frankly I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish. 'I want to replace part of my stereo with an iPad mount' sounds about like 'I want to replace part of my kitchen sink with macaronic and cheese.' I just don't understand what the two have to do with each other. Are you trying to basically use an iPad as a headunit?

I wasn't sure if the battery ground is normally connected to the chassis. However, even with this, ground is not created equal. For example, you have a ground point (reference point) for, say, a signal and a different ground point, for say, a chassis. You do this for various reasons. You may use signal ground as a dedicated grounding point for very sensitive components, while your chassis ground could just be used for ones that have high tolerance.

It's all laid out in the PDF file. The rear audio system of the Sienna is ceiling mounted. I want to take this out and replace it with an overhead iPad 2 mount. The pictures are in the PDF for reference.
