I'm about to replace my 1Gig of Corsair with 2 GB of G.Skills. Question is, once I install, am I suppose to reset the BIOS? I've heard that you should but wasn't sure. I don't need any overclocking so can I just let the MoBo detect what I have?

I have an NF8 mobo.

I've switched my memory without reseting BIOS, which was in December. No problems yet...

1. Turn off computer
2. Change RAM
3. Turn on computer

You shouldn't have to do anything other than that.

Okay everything went smoothly. The motherboard reset itself to default so I had to make a few changes, but nothing crazy.

Now to test it on some game. FEAR and BF2 to name a few.

Thanks again!

Hi, Many years ago there was a requirement to go into the BIOS SETUP when adding memory. Just to go in and back out. Not required now, but someone said if it doesn't work then reset. Might have something there. Good Luck, Jim
