Replacing power supply

Hi...

I've built a pc from scratch, but never just replaced the power supply before. Do you always remove the motherboard before doing this?

My case is a Silverstone Lacala LC-10M if that helps.

It's your choice.. My case is a P182 so I can remove it easily while still upright, and the PSU is below the motherboard. This means there's zero risk of me accidentally dropping the PSU onto the motherboard.
 
I think it's uncommon to remove the motherboard if you're just going to be removing/installing a PSU. But in my case, the PSU is directly over my motherboard and precious video card, so I have to be a little more careful than jmmtn4aj. You could just lay the case on its side if you're really concerned about it.

Edit: I just checked your case. I didn't realize that it's a HTPC case, so it's already lying on its side. So forget what I said about that -- you're fine.
