replacing old receiver - two channel, multi room, single source...

I am trying to replace my parents Sony receiver.

They basically use it to play music in some combination of three rooms. I don't think they need or want simultaneous multi source capability.

Is there any receiver still made that would just have a built in capability to switch between the three rooms? Or am I required to have a speaker selector box outside the receiver? Simplicity is important...

i am vaguely familiar, but basically looking for something:

cheaper.

that will just accept inputs for 3 sets of speakers. (if that's possible)
