Replacing old RAM

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 running Vista SP2, 32bit. Recently I added two gigs of RAM from crucial.com to the two gigs it came with. I noticed an improvement in performance right away.

Would I notice any improvement if I replaced the two older sticks of RAM with new sticks?

Yeah, same size. I didn't know if there were any performance benefits from aftermarket RAM.

No, the gains came from having a total of 4 GB instead of just 2 GB.

Replacing the first 2 GB with a different brand or speed will have no noticeable effect.
