Replacing Old Motherboard

IanthePez

We are pretty sure the motherboard in my brothers computer has gone bad so he asked me to help him find a replacement.

He is currently running:

Athlon 1ghz
512 MB SDRAM

He wants one that supports both SD and DDR so he can upgrade later. The three choices I have found on newegg are

BIOSTAR M7VIW
MSI KT2 Combo-L
Shuttle AK32E

Which one of these would probably be the best for him? Also, any other suggestions are fine. Newegg is not the only place we'll buy. Thanks.

No way...Ackk. Look into those Asrock boards, They are made by an offshoot of ASUS and many of them that I have seen have slots for either Sdram or DDR ram.

Get the cheapest one you feel will fill your need.
*cough* K7S5A Pro. 4 of 5 stars from 146 votes and 132 reviews...it doesn't get that from being crap.
Note that there will be no point in upgrading later on w/o upgrading the mobo, so don't worry about that.
