replacing Nvidia with ATI, best way to remove drivers?

I am replacing a Geforce 3 with a 9800 Pro, whats the best method or software other than the uninstall routine to remove all the driver entries? I am running XP and was going to do a fresh install, but haven't had the time and would like to run the card ASAP and do a fresh install at a later time... Thanks for looking.

uninstall from control panel, shut down and swap cards, then install the new ati drivers. that is really all it takes but if you pull the geforce before uninstailling drivers then things go down hill quick

What a coincedence...I just replaced my GF3 Ti200 with a Radeon 9800 PRO today, and I went the re-format/fresh install routine, which IMHO is the best way to go to get of those pesky Detonator drivers. 😉

However...

Buck_Naked, since you said you don't have the time yet to do a fresh install of the OS, might I recommend Driver Cleaner? I have good very things about DC, especially from people who switched from NVidia to ATi and vice-versa.

Thanks for the reponse from both of you, and thank you very much SamuraiSludge for the link, its just what I was looking for until I can get around to doing a fresh install.... How do you like the card? How dramatic was the change from the Geforce to the Radeon?

That's a quick way, but i have found out a reformat is the way to go.
My 9800 Pro wasen't working like it should of untill the reformat, it made a world of difference.

Just did the install and played a few minutes of Vice City... I noticed some intermittent stutters.... Guess I will be reinstalling XP in the next day or two...
