Replacing my UPS - Suggestions

I have a 6 year old Cyberpower 900AVR. Never replaced the batter (not sure if you can) and think that it may be time for a new UPS.
Read APC are good, but not sure what model to get for my PC/NAS. Not looking at spending an arm and leg either. Suggestions?
 
Replacing the battery is going to be much cheaper. I'd be surprised if any UPS doesn't have a replacable battery. it's very easy generally, unscrew the bottom (check for hidden screws under rubber pads and stickers), find the battery and search the number printed on it. find one you like, double check that the voltage and Amp hours/Watt hours is very close, order, connectors should come off easy. I suggest Enersys for a battery replacement brand, I've used them for years and they have good life but they are slightly more expensive.
 
yeah go for a refurbished model ebay has some very good sellers . you could replace battery but you can get a really nice refurb a 1500 va ups from apc . I think I can find a link that a-tech will allow.

I just picked up my first UPS at Costco a few weeks ago -- a CyberPower 1350 for $90, if I remember correctly. Seems to work great, and although it was overkill for my rig, it's nice to have a long runtime (and maybe some light in the office!) if I need it.

I agree that replacing the battery would be the cheapest option.
 
Yep, I picked up the same one at CostCo back in March. Great deal on that UPS and about $40 cheaper than getting the same thing from NewEgg or Amazon. Huge overkill, but if the power goes out, my NAS, modem and router will still be up for an estimated 51 minutes.
 
Yep if the UPS works fine it's fairly easy to change the battery. They don't want you to know this, but any gel cell should do. Just check the size and voltage of the battery and go to a local electrical shop to see if they sell them. It's cheaper than ordering online, as shipping will usually kill you for something heavy like this. Often it is 2 12v batteries in series. The smaller UPSes are only 1 battery. All the ones I've seen use 12v batteries, but still check the voltage just in case it's an oddball one that might use 2 6v ones or something.
 
I've had good luck with Arizona Battery. If you have your model number it will tell you on the site what battery(s) to get. You could always call them and they can look it up for you.
