Rather than HiJack my own thread, I decided to start a new thread.

Insurance is cutting me a check for the vehicle (~3800) so I'm looking to spend less than that.

I found this vehicle, does it sound too good to be true?

I just need a cheap vehicle to get me to and from work (5 miles each way), but I like the idea of the S-10 because I can put my motorcycle in the back,

Too late, it was removed.. You sure you don't want to just buy a fuel efficient, but older car? You can easily get a nice civic from the 90s for under $3800.

Well this was a 5 speed , 4 Cylinder S-10 for 2800. Like I said, I like the idea of being able to toss my bike in the back and strap it down. My other car is a 2004 Saturn Ion.

I would not get a 4cyl S10. The 4cyl was to weak for the S10 and did not do well. The 4.3L in the S10 is a good motor.

The 4cyl in the Ford Ranger / Mazda B-series is a good 4cyl.

Thanks for the info, I thought I read somewhere that the 4 Cylinder in the S-10 was weak, but couldn't remember.

Ha, Civic from the 90's for $3800. They are so horribly overpriced.

Yea, I guess I should specifiy that I'd like a small pickup or SUV so that I can either trailer or strap down my bike to take to the Dragon/Track Days, etc.

How are early 2000's Kia Sportages? They are very cheap.

My recommendation is a '97+ cherokee (not a grand) with the 4.0 but I'm partial to them. I've had a '93 and have a '97 right now. They're cheap and durable. They'll tow a small trailer with a bike or two on it very easily. If you don't need 4x4 you can find a 4x2 in most areas noticeably cheaper than the 4x4 version.
